Refusal of the Chosen

What in the name of?

What happened?

My head hurts a little.

Everything is so dark.

I'm trying to recall everything that happened last night but I couldn't. There's this thing when you try to remember something but quickly fades away. That's kind of weird. I think I remembered that I found Toothless, fed him and let the guys stay in the arena. I went home and slept right away.

But wait a minute. Why is the air here...

Almost unbreathable?

I can't stretch.

It's humid in here.

Seconds later, my head hurts again. I touched it, only to find out a small bump formed and it really hurts. Did I ran into a pole? Or someone just hit me with a mace?

I can barely move my arms and leg, not even my prosthetic leg. I feel as if I was cramped into some sack or something. Oh heck no.

I am in a sack. Someone must've put me in here.

"Hey let me out of here!" I shouted.

Few moments later, I feel like being tossed in some container or whatever. I hope I'm not a lucky victim of a wild and ravenous dragon, with its teeth ready to sink in my skinny body, my bones crushed by the jaws of the dragon, sliding down in its slimy throat, to be digested in its acidic stomach and be dissolved and some time later will be thrown out of the dragon's system.

( A/N: Sorry if this part is disturbing.)

Well I would prepare myself for the worst. Dear Odin give me strength to get out of here. I kept squirming and shouting, doing whatever it takes to get out of this thing.

Few moments later, cold wind touched my skin. It feels light in here. But why can I hear the drifting of the winds in the sky?

It can't be!

I must be flying.

Did a dragon abduct me? Oh I hope I cannot be taken to another dragon nest and be fed to the Red Death again. (Well not exactly, since the Queen of dragons already died but I don't think there should be one again.)

A few seconds later I hear mutterings and laughter. I must be hallucinating. Dragons can't verbally express human language.

Or are they even dragons?

I tried to squirm free when I heard something that was about to be untied. I must be getting out.

Then luckily a gush of air swept inside the sack. I am so out of this thing, that was until I saw four familiar faces. Wait did-

" Rise and shine dragon boy." Jack smirked.

Then light blinded my eyes. It was morning. Then my face touched a cloud and I blinked like three hundred times. Why am I up here in the sky? Then I realized I was aboard on some sleigh. What in the world?

" Wh-where am I? Why am I up here? Where's Toothless? Did you guys kidnap me?" I rushed my words. The so called 'Guardians' stared at me like I'm crazy. Jack whispered something to Merida then turned to Rapunzel who nodded with a sad expression on her face but quickly melted when she looked at me and waved. I gave an awkward wave back then shot Jack a death stare.

I quickly scrambled out of the sack, got up to the back seat and pinned Jack on the bottom near the end of the sleigh. I gripped his neck tight as if I have all the strength to strangle a person. His snowy white hair is drifting through the cold air and he just smiled at me. I tightened my grip.

" You! You did this?!" I said with gritted teeth.

" Calm down dragon boy." he said while in a series of choking fits.

In the background, I heard Rapunzel gasp in shock while Merida said something in awe.

" Guys stop it." Rapunzel pleaded.

" Ooh, a fight! This might be good." Merida squealed in her seat.

" Did you guys kidnap me?!" I shouted.

" I'll explain it if only you let go of Jack." said Rapunzel with a serious look on her face. Right after she said that, I glanced down at Jack whose pale face is turning blue. I let go of him and he stood up, gulping large amounts of air then coughed. I chose a spot to sit on and looked at Jack.

" Look I'm really sorry. I got a little aggressive on you." I apologized.

" Me too bro." he replied quietly.

" Well I'm glad you two made up."

Rapunzel grinned. Merida sighed in frustration and cupped her face in her hands.

" How I wish me an' Mum would get along." she said then let out a grunt.

" Have you seen my dragon, Toothless?" I asked.

" Oh you mean that dragon down here?" she asked but with a confused look on her face.

Yes Toothless is here! He's down here! Wait! Down here?

Why would he be down here? That's when I noticed there's a piece of rope tied from the foot of the sleigh. I looked down to see.

Toothless was tied down.

" Toothless!" I shouted. The poor dragon must've heard my voice and his light green eyes looked up to me, filled with fear. Toothless let out a roar, the roar he uses when he can't fly.

" Help me get to him!" I said to the Guardians.

" Tha' rope can't hold yer weight even if you look like a wee lamb. There's gotta be somethin' in here." Merida said.

" Ooh I know. Use my hair!" Rapunzel offered.

" But is it strong enough to lift me down?" I asked, unsure of the offer. Merida nodded and Jack gave me an assuring stare. Rapunzel sweetly smiled and put her hand in my shoulder. "Don't worry. Do you even know how many times I have to lift my mother in a tower? I love hard work!" she said enthusiastically.

I looked at others who were smiling at me. I nodded and sighed. "OK then. Tie me and hoist me down." I said. Merida grabbed a part of Rapunzel's hair and tied it to my waist. After tying me up, she stared into my emerald green eyes. "Be safe lad." she said and blushed. I nodded then Jack said, " If you get down, what will you do next?"
This is my time to show them. I smirked and replied. "Good question. I'll show you."

I stepped on the bars beneath the sleigh and Rapunzel carefully hoisted me down to Toothless. I have to say she's really strong for a girl, besides Merida. I was near to Toothless and tugged down the rope he was tied into. I noticed that the rope will be snapped down in seconds. I quickly sat on the saddle and petted Toothless to calm him down. I untied Rapunzel's hair round my waist.

" Let's show them bud." Little did I know, I stepped on the pedal and the rope snapped. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

I opened my eyes to see that we were flying. We were flying above the sleigh. I stepped on the gear to make Toothless shift left. We made twists and turns and dives and a bunch of other tricks. The folks down the sleigh stared at us in awe. Then I made my way back to the sleigh to catch up with the others.

" And so that's why I made this plan of mine." Jack said. The three of us slowly nodded. I glanced at Merida who frowned and Rapunzel with a confused look on her face.

" But why? You don't want to be a Guardian?" I asked. Jack sighed and looked at me.

" The rest of us doesn't want to either." Rapunzel joined in. "So we decided to follow Jack's plan." Merida piped in. "Aye. I agree. We don't know why..we are even chosen." I nodded. We all don't want to become Guardians.
