Two months later, on August 10th, Lacey, Peter, and Luke stood at the New York International Airport, a long way from home. Donny, Lacey's butler and legal guardian, held their four tickets in his hand, waiting at the boarding deck.
"I can't believe you two used three whole suitcases just for hair supplies."Lacey said, eating her duty free chocolate."Three. Whole. Suitcases."
"Says the girl who brough an entire suitcase full of music cds."Peter retorted.
"I need the Vamps."Lacey countered, pushing her long, jet black hair off her shoulder.
Luke moved his tall frame over to the side, and his short black hair was mopped to the right. He had rushed in the morning, too excited to care much about the way he looked. He had threw on an old black tshirt and ripped jeans. In the eyes of everyone, he looked like a careless teenager, but on the inside he had the energy of a bursting five year old.
Peter, on the other hand, wore a red sweater his grandmother had made him for Christmas and neon orange skinny jeans. He was more of the adorable geek that people looked at and smiled. He was careful to look perfect, pack everything and leave in a way of ease and fun. He lived directly across from Lacey, and had made sure to check on his girlfriend as the loaded into the limo.
Lacey, the shortest one of the three, wore a collar Burberry shirt and blue jeggings. She had put on whatever someone had left on her bed, and she had packed as many music cds and band tshirts as possible. Music was the only thing keeping her sane when on a plane with two childish talkative boys.
"Yes and I need awesome hair."Luke pointed out.
"Flight 723 to Alabama will be boarding shortly."The Hostess said over the PA."All first class passengers please proceed to the boarding deck and please keep all carry-ones and luggage materials at hand. We are not responsible for any damaged or stolen materials, so please keep all baggage in check at all times. Also, keep young children close, as we try hard to accommodate for as many passengers as possible, boarding would be more efficient that way. Thank you and please enjoy your flight."
"You hear that Peter, don't wander off young child."Luke teased, chewing his gum.
"Very funny Luke."Peter said, shooting him a look."Donny, you have the boarding passes correct?"
"Yes,"Donny answered, pulling the carry on."Now, please, no one get arrested this time."
"PARIS WAS AN ACCIDENT!"Peter whisper yelled.
"Sure."Donny said sarcastically."It most surely was."
Donny laughed as Peter turned red. Together, four of us walked to the deck and the lady stamped the boarding passes and ripped the sides off.
"Enjoy your flight."She said, smiling creepily.
"I bet they pay these people to smile."Lacey whispered.
"More like force."Luke corrected.
They were traveling US Airways, on a large plane in first class. The seats had two seats on each side. Lacey and Peter sat on the right and Luke and Donny sat directly behind them. Lacey pushed Peter over to claim the window seat.
"YOU SNOOZE YOU LOSE!"Lacey said, laughing.
"YOU ARE AN EVIL BEAUTIFUL YET EVIL PERSON LACELIA!"Peter laughed, throwing his bag in to the overhead compartment.
"Hehe,"Lacey laughed."I try very hard."
"Oh my god you two, stop being so adorable."Luke said, plugging in his earbuds."I'm going to listen to Black Veil Brides and it's very hard to appreciate the music when you two are being a cute couple."
"Luke, gummy bears."Peter said, tossing him a bag.
In moments Luke's eyes went big and he cut through the bag like a deranged, hungry beast.
"GUMMY. . .BEARS!"He yelled, chewing them down."GUMMY. BEARS."
"I think as the legal guardian, I should be allowed to pick who I can sit with."Donny said, sitting down."I do not wish to sit with Monsieur Gummy Bear."
"Sorry, Don,"Lacey said, tightening her seatbelt."But the cute couple gets to sit together."
"BURNNNNNNNNNNNN!"Peter said, fumbling with his seat belt.
Donny just rolled his eyes and sighed. Lacey leaned out the window, looking at the hundreds of people each with a story. Some were visiting friends, family, anyone really. Others were seeking new opportunities. But the only story Lacey cared about was hers. It maybe selfish, but in the three months she had known Hail, her life had changed. Everything had changed.
The flight was two hours and twenty minutes. That seemed like a lifetime to Lacey. She slumped in her seat and turned on her music. Five Seconds of Summer blasted into her ears and for a moment, she was calm. Her excitement and longing disappeared to another galaxy as she heard "Don't Stop". With the music and words, she fell slowly into a different world, a calm. . .place. . .far. . .far away. . .
"I FOUND THE INFLIGHT DINING MENU!"Luke screamed, almost falling off his seat.
Peter laughed and tightened his belt, while Donny breathed in and out.
"Good lord."Donny said, breathless. "I think I'm going to be sick."
"Please let me see Hail before I go insane."Lacey silently prayed.
