So, who knows how much time it took for them to take over? How much time does it take for them to transform into what they are?
So many questions ran through Lisa's mind alongside troubled thoughts she was starting to have a headache, the cries that women and children would be letting out didn't help much either in trying to calm her.
She couldn't bring herself to look outside, the sharp turns the driver would make gave her enough explanation the streets were probably filled with —
Lisa shook her head as she clenched her eyes shut, she didn't even want to think of the name.
"Mummy..." The child beside her wailed. "I want to go home."
"Me too, sweetheart." The mother's voice shook. She sobbed quietly and tightly held onto the child on her lap. "We will be home safely, we just need to be — "
Their conversation was cut short when hearing a sharp cry of help right in front of them, Lisa also quickly raised her to see that the couple right in front had the woman leaning onto her partner.
He repeatedly called out her name, until realizing that he wasn't calling out to her anymore when she raised her head to look up at him.
Everybody started to scream and Lisa was quick to stand up, jumping over the chair and she felt nothing when accidentally stepping on the people that were sat behind her. Her eyes looked up and she saw glass window at the ceiling of the bus.
The screams for help intensified in her ears and deafening her completely, she couldn't hear anything asides from the sharp buzz in her head.
She tried her best to open the glass and panicked when seeing she couldn't, she looked to see few people looking up at her with desperate expressions. Her breath quickened and she looked up again, it felt everything suddenly became narrow in her sight and without thinking twice, she repeated punched the glass.
With her skinny arms, she did think it would be impossible to break it, but with her trying over and over again, she managed to make a crack. That was when she raised herself further on the chair and kicked the glass, breaking it completely and not looking down as the glass shattered and was dropped on certain people.
With the adrenaline running in her body, she couldn't feel the pain on her hand as she tried her best to climb over. Lisa looked over her shoulder and saw people trying to reach up to her and she stretched her hand out to them.
With her remaining strength, she pulled them up, people topping over each other desperately as they tried to reach up until at a certain point, Lisa made eye contact with hollow blue eyes that stared directly into her brown ones.
"No!" A woman cried as Lisa let go of her hand out of panic and quickly turned around, people stood behind in fear and when she looked around the bus, it was almost completely surrounded by zombies.
Quickly, she looked for the clearer side and when finding it, people followed behind her as she slid down the bus.
The female tried her best to help others, although she slowly started to think properly, she knew she needed to look for a car.
Look for a car, the thought trailed in her mind and she turned around to see she was in one of the main streets and only one thing came to mind, this is where the danger is. The main roads are going to be full of them, the main places and main services.
"Car..." She whimpered before running off. She couldn't bear to think of the people she helped down, she was now thinking of getting into a vehicle and finding her way to the dorm to rescue Yerim.
Lisa could only pray the girl was safe.
She could see the zombies that slowly roamed around, luckily they were slow but Lisa knew that even then, they still can catch up with you. She's played enough video games with her friends to know and yet she still panicked.
Her eyes roamed inside every car, looking for keys in the ignition since she didn't know how to start cars by firing wires. But when she saw a car with its door open, she ran for it.
Relief instantly washing over her when seeing the keys dangling over the ignition, she quickly sat down and closed the door, locking it and twisting the key.
She wanted to cry out thank you to the heavens but when looking ahead and seeing a group of zombies, her mind went blank again before her foot unknowingly stepped down on the accelerator and her hands went to the gear stick and pushed it towards the letter D and allowing the car to move forward.
The car ran into them and their faces were up against the glass, Lisa screamed before clenching her eyes shut and her feet stepped deeper on the pedal. When hearing the car run down the street with a growl, she reopened her eyes with her irregular breathing and had to make a sharp turn when she almost crashed into the same bus from earlier that now had its windows painted messily with blood and people in there still screaming.
She dodged the hoard of zombies that surrounded the large vehicle and sped down the Main Street, where other cars were also messily driving upon.
Yerim was now the only thing in her mind. She tried to collect herself on her way to the dorm, trying to think of what they would do. She's seen enough movies and played enough games, they needed to collect every ounce of food they had and find a shelter.
Would they need to find a group? Would that help them survive longer? Or would it slow them down?
As the car drove by the university campus, Lisa became more anxious, she could see people running every where for their lives, zombies slowly trailing after them, limping and their shirts already stained heavily with blood.
And the female thought that only such a sight would be seen in fiction movies, but now she was proved completely wrong.
