For the next week, Lukas and Matthias got together after Matthias's tutoring sessions with Emil. Lukas would sit and listen to Matthias rant about whatever had happened the day before or the weekend or something, and each day, Emil returned to his seat in a nearby corner next to a quiet boy with brown, side swept hair with a grin. Him and his Shipping Club, eh dear reader?

Why did I agree to this? Lukas mentally scolded himself for the second or third time that day. This guy has more air in his head that a balloon. The sacrifices I do for Mr. Caterpillar-Brows.

He snapped out of his thoughts and continued his conversation with Matthias, the guy his brother was toutoring because of slipping grades.

"So Lief Erikson was all like 'This place is full of green stuffs, and this other place is, like, all ice. So let's troll future peoples into thinking they are their namesakes!' and everyone else was sort of like, 'Meh. You do you, man' and had no problem with it," Matthias laughed at his own recap.

Lukas smiled. He had to admit that Matthias had quite a sense of humor. Sarcasticaly speaking at least. He liked listening to the spikey-haired man's version of history, an area he didn't paticulairily care for. Lukas listened intently as Matthias continued to ramble for the remainder of the free period. Towards the end, Matthias stopped talking, startling Lukas in the process. Matthias, being quiet? Was that even possible? Apparently so.

"You know," Matthias paused to look at the clock, "I've been talking for a week now, and you haven't said a word."

Lukas nodded.

"So, why don't you talk?" Matthias asked.

"I choose to listen and observe those around me," Lukas replied.

"You don't like talking?"

"No, I just choose not to talk," at this point, Lukas was getting slightly annoyed.

"Cool, cool. But if you were, theoretically, invited to a party-" Matthias asked.

"I wouldn't go," Lukas cut in.

"But if you were to go. . .," Matthias.

"I wouldn't."

"But if you did~"

"I wouldn't."

Matthias sent Lukas the most adorable, pleading puppy eyes.

Lukas sighed and gave in, "I'd find the nearest exit and use it."

Matthias pouted, that was not the response he had expected. Something more along the lines of "I'd dance with my friends" or "I'd play party games with Elizabeta" or even "I'd read a book".

"Hmm," Matthias leant back in his chair and dropped the topic.

Lukas internally sighed in relief. He didn't care for socializing, nor was he paticularily fond of, well, people in general. With exceptions, such as Emil, of course.

You see, a few months, Lukas wasn't so cold and isolated. Up until a few months ago, Lukas was taken by a man called Berwald. Not like he was kidnapped, like they were together. The two had met a year before Lukas had met Matthias, and he and Berwald had grown close fast. Even though neither man's eyes had started to blend, they believed themselves to be soulmates; thus, they started dating. Three months into their relationship, Lukas had noticed Berwald's eyes blending. He was ecstatic becaasue he assumed his own eyes had blended too. Berwald thought the same, but Lukas's eyes remained the same colors. Five months later, Berwald and Lukas were in their favorite cafe, Kā fēi, when someone that was very inportant to Berwald came in.
