Once again, Lukas sat at Matthias's bedside watching his chest rise and fall under the thin, hospital sheets. He clicked his fingers together, and his leg bounced as he sat. Lukas talked nonchalantly to the comatose Matthias.

"And then Emil said-"

A doctor different from the unsettling red-eyed man from last time entered the room cutting Lukas's statement short too. Lukas turned to him looking absolutely lost and confused.

"Who are you, sir?"

"I'm Doctor Wang Thein Huong," the doctor replied, "I've replaced Doctor Jones as Matthias's doctor for about a week now."

The doctor had dark hair tied back in a ponytail that reached her hips and dark, monolid eyes with minimal neutral makeup. She held a clipboard and checked off boxes on the paper.

Lukas blinked back to reality, "Can I ask why?"

Doctor Wang raised an eyebrow, "Family issues."

Lukas nodded knowing to not press further, "As chiché as it sounds, how is he Doc?"

Doctor Wang held eye contact for a split second longer than normal before she started flipping the pages on her clipboard.

"Matthias Kohler's systems are all fine. Blood pressure, iron levels, brain activity. Everything's normal. He should have woken up days ago but he's still unconscious. We're unsure of what's happening."

Lukas nodded and opened his mouth to say something, but the monitor behind him startled him by beeping abnormally fast.

Doctor Wang's eyes widened, and she pushed Lukas aside sending him off the chair and onto the ground. She slammed a red button beside the monitor and started preforming CPR. Moments later, a woman holding toaster-like clamps raced in with a man rolling a cart behind her. Doctor Wang barked orders, and the woman started doing compressions on Matthias's chest.

Lukas hung back against the wall and watched clutching his chest like a sitcom mother. Why? He told himself he didn't know. In actuality, his eyebrows were knit, and his hands were ice cold. His eyes were glued to the scene before him terrified of the possibilities and anxious for his friend's fate.

"Out." Doctor Wang pointed to the door and back to Matthias. "Clear!"

Lukas ducked out of the room, but he did not leave the area. After a few moments, Doctor Wang took a seat across from Lukas and unclipped a piece of paper from her clipboard.

"I'd like you to answer a few questions for me." she didn't give Lukas a chance to agree or disagree before launching into a survey. "Who are you Matthias Kohler?"

"His tutor's older brother."

She nodded looking over a paper, "Where were you when Doctor Jones last checked up on him?"

"Right where I was when you came in today."

"Did you see or feel anything out of the ordinary about Doctor Jones?"

Lukas nodded, "He was very stiff while he moved around the room and when I asked him about Matthias's condition, he just glared at me and told me to leave."

Doctor Wang nodded, "You are Lukas Bondevik, yes? Emil's older brother?"

Lukas nodded, "And you are? Aside from Matthias's doctor."

"I'm Li Xiao's sister," she replied scribbling some things down on the paper. "You probably know him as Leon though. I was told my brother is your brother's soulmate."

Lukas nodded, "Same. Funny how small the world is, eh?"

Doctor Wang nodded, "When I checked his papers, his eye condition was blank. So, I checked them. Through a c-ray scan, his biologically blue eyes held specks of violet. The same shade as yours I noticed earlier."
