Coffee shop

Four years later.

Ring. Ring. Rin-

"....hello?"

"ABOUT TIME YOU WOKE UP! I'VE CALLED YOU AT LEAST 10 TIMES!"

Sayori flinched for a moment as she moved her phone away from her ear. "Sorry...what's the big deal again...?" She yawned and sat up in bed.

"I made enough money to go to that fancy coffee shop we always talk about! We have to go before it gets too full-wait. You're not ready at all, are you?"

"Wh-what?! You think I'd forget? I'm half way done getting ready!" Sayori anxiously tried putting her only clean outfit she had which happened to be a nice dress Natsuki had bought her a few months prier.

After putting on the dress she put on her signature red bow and looked in the mirror "Today's another day!" She smiled to herself before feeling a sudden pain in her chest. She reached for pain killer and looked at the information on the back "Taking too many can result in overdose which could result in death" She shook her head for a moment and headed for the door.

"I'm quitting the debate club."

"What?! Monika you can't do this please just think about it!"

"Hana, just let her. You know when she makes a decision it's impossible to get her to reconsider..." Michael Conner sat in a chair with his feet on the table as he glanced at Hana.

"Now, Monika. If you wish to leave the debate club...go ahead and leave us behind! No hard feelings, right?" Kira looked at her mockingly, while Monika just smirked a bit. "You're trying to make me feel guilty? How cute...and here I thought we were going to be civilized! Welp, nice talking to all of you before I resign as vice president of the debate club."

"Have a good day~!" Monika winked at them and shut the door before they could say anything.

"Jesus it's chilly out here..." Monika walked along the sidewalk and looked across the street to see a small pastry shop that had just opened, 'Small cakes- pastries and coffee.'

Seems decent enough...

She opened the door to hear a small bell ring as she walked in.

"Welcome to small cakes! You can just go sit at a table we'll be right with you!"  The woman seemed nice enough. She had dirty blonde hair and wore a white apron.

"Thanks..." she in a small table and waited.

Looking around Monika noticed a few other people talking and drinking coffee. She remembered this place used to be a music shop where she'd come every other day. Unfortunately the owner died and the woman didn't ever leave it for anyone else...

She was brought back to reality when she heard the waitress talking to her.

"...Ma'am!"

"Huh?"

"Are you ready to order?"

"Oh uh..." Looking at the menu, Monika saw that they served mochas.

"I'll just take a mocha."

"Alright, one mocha it is!"

The woman walked off with her small notepad and went to the next costumers.

Ring~!

Monika looked at her phone and saw a new message from Michael Conner.

New message(s):
MC: Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to go to a party today...and maybe get a few drinks.

Another party? Well, I've got nothing better to do...

She quickly texted him back and put her phone down as she glanced out the window for a moment before turning her head back to her phone which had been ringing for a while. Monika ignored it as she noticed it was Hana and Kira again. Then it rang again...and again until-!

"Yes???"

"WHY'D YOU JUST LEAVE US LIKE THAT?!"

For fucks sake...

"Hey Nat!"

"You finally show up... and here I thought I'd have to go alone."

"Come on, I'm not that late."

"Sure, if you think 20 minutes after we planned to meet up isn't late."

"Hey... why are you using your uniform for school?"

"...I had a club meeting."

"Natsuki!"

"Ugh...alright I may have skipped tutoring sessions, but who cares? It isn't that importan-OW!"

Sayori pulled the shorter girls ear for a moment- she had always been sort of like a big sister for Natsuki which could be annoying at times but mostly fun.

"Don't skip."

"Yeah, I know! Look I won't skip it again just stop pulling on my ear!"

"Promise?"

"Promise..."

"Great! Let's get going then!"

"What do they have here anywa-"

"What? Oh..."
