Hazel's POV
This was it! The night before i get to go to Magcon. This has meant the world to me ever since i knew who they were. With my lung cancer, i haven't been able to achieve many things.
One, because of the prices and how much money we had.
Two, because its hard to get me to a lot of places i want to go. I mean, my oxygen tank is a big part of it. And i cant walk for a long amount of time. Same with climbing or any physical activity.
I slowly later down in my bed with the small tubes running from my nose to the tank beside my bed. I traced them as it made indents into my sheets, trailing off the sides.
I know I'm going to have a hard time sleeping tonight because of tomorrow, but not as hard as i thought.
********
I woke up having trouble breathing as my mom ran up my stairs quickly to see me. My air tubes had snapped a little, causing me to not get as much oxygen as i needed. My clock was blurry from my tears threatening to spill but i managed to read 1:34 on it.
I stumbled down the stairs as mom held my side, trying to help me. My head became light and the rest of me felt heavy.
She rushed me to the hospital as they replaced my tubes then i was off to my house again and fell back asleep around 3:06.
***
My alarm went off at 8 which meant all together, i got 7 hours of sleep. Not bad.
I put on plain skinny jeans with a rip in one knee from being worn out and a purple v-neck shirt with a black cami under it. Then white ankle socks with my grey Converse.
I quickly brushed my short shaggy hair with my brush then just barely got downstairs to eat breakfast. I i brushed my teeth in the downstairs bathroom and then we headed to magcon with my phone in my tan leather shoulder side bag and my 2 VIP tickets that i got in the mail for me and my mom.
***
We arrived 20 minutes before they let fans in and when we did, the 7 VIP's got guided back by security.
I dragged my oxygen tank in one hand and half my moms hand in the other as my slow body dragged itself to one of the chair assigned for us. I felt like a 90 year old in a 15 year old girls body.
"I'm getting a call from Nash!" My mom said. She answered.
Car's (the moms) POV
"Hello?" I said into the phone as my daughter stared at me.
"Hi its Nash, grab a security guard and put them on the phone. We want i bring you somewhere special, either you and Hazel, or just Hazel." He said to me.
"Of course! Let me find someone!..." I handed the phone off and then he handed it back as he led us to the place he said. By this time, Nash was off the phone.
Hazel's POV
As soon as they brought us there, i saw Braylin Lawrence! Oh my gosh u cant believe she see's me. She is walking towards me. What do i say? What should i do? So i just stand there.
"Hi Hazel! How are you feeling?" She asked, gently pulling me in for a hug.
"Eh, i cant breath obviously.. but I'm a lot better here!" I laughed.
"Aw good! Well the others should be here soon, i know Cameron is looking for you right now!" She said, rubbing my arm.
Whoa wait. Cameron Dallas. Looking.. For me?! Oh my god. Feels. He knows who i am.
I look to my right as Cameron Dallas turns the corner. Then looks to his left, and see's me. He smiled and walks towards me and personally, it all happened in slow motion.
"Hey Hazel! How are you?" He asked, hugging me.
"I-I'm good, just nervous for today i guess." I stutter.
"There is no need to! Everyone here will love you!" He told me, grabbing my oxygen tank and pulling it for me. We walked over with Braylin to the food table.
"Isn't this your guys food? I shouldn't just take this." I told them.
"No we want you back here with us! And if its okay, we want to introduce you on stage." Braylin said.
"Whoa whoa wait." I pushed a strand of short hair back. "I- just because i have cancer doesn't mean you have to introduce me or show me to everyone." I said, a bit frustrated.
"Oh, well you dont have to... It's just that your an inspiration to a lot of people.. Thats all." Cameron Said.
I tried to take a deep breath in, but it was hard.
"I mean, i guess i will." I replied sounding unsure.
"Okay, good!" He smiled.
***
I stood back stage at the steps watching all the boys including Mahogany and Braylin messing around.
"Okay everyone can we have your attention?" Cam said into the microphone. It got quiet.
"Thanks. Today, there is a girl we would like you to meet... Come on out Hazel." Nash said as they looked at me.
I gripped my tank and pulled it up the 4 stairs to the stage and walked over to them. The rolling from the tank was so loud. But i knew it was only because of how quiet it was from them staring.
When i stopped, it was silent.
"So, if its alright with you we can do questions." Braylin whispered in my ear.
"Yeah, but can i have a chair please? It was a long walk." I whispered back. She grabbed me a chair and the questions began.
"Whats your name?" One girl asked.
"Hazel Grace." I replied quietly into the mic.
"Whats your illness?"
"I have lung cancer"
"How old are you?"
"I'm 15 years old."
"Who's your favorite from Magcon?"
"Uum i dont really have one, i mean, they all inspire me so.. Yeah." I said awkwardly.
"Liar." The girl mumbled.
"What?" I said.
"Alright thats enough with questions! Let's all give a round of applause to Hazel and wish her luck" Nash said, as i started to go off stage.
"GOOD LUCK HAZEL" everyone yelled. I smiled then waved and left stage waiting to meet them all.
