Chapter 9: Hostage
I've been hanging out with Viktor for the past few days. And for once I heard a banshee screeching in the night a few days ago. There was only one more day before the second task would begin.
I didn't really know what to do for the time being to wait. Draco was obviously annoying as it is, and I practically had no one to talk to in Slytherin. Yay.
I was in the library where most of the Bulgarian girls were bullying me, and I was trying to ignore them. They just wouldn't leave me alone. I sighed when I saw Harry and Hermione and Ron walking in the library.
"Hey, guys!" I waved at them with a grin.
"Hey, Aquila!" They all said back.
"What are you all doing?" I asked.
"Trying to know how to breathe underwater," Harry said as he started to pick up a book.
"Really? You haven't figured it out?" I said. They began to pick up books and were skimming through table of contents.
"No," Harry said. Should I tell him now?
"Have you looked in books about plants?" I asked with my lip twitching to one side.
"What? Why would we need that?" Ron snorted. I just rolled my eyes at them.
"Gee, I don't know, maybe give him the ability to breathe underwater!" I said sarcastically.
"How would that be helpful? There isn't any plant!" Ron said. I glared at him.
"Well, I guess you might want to check again. Maybe if you actually picked up a book in a while and read it, you would know things." I said.
"Oh, this is no use. Who on earth wants to make their nose hair grow into ringlets?" Hermione said. Ew, that's just gross.
"I wouldn't mind. Be a talking point, wouldn't it?" I heard Fred's voice. I turned around to see him and George standing there.
"What're you two doing here?" Ron asked.
"You two read?" I said astonished.
"Looking for you. McGonagall wants you, Ron. And you, Aquila." said George. What does she want me for?
"Why? Did we do something?" I asked.
"Dunno. She was looking a bit grim, though." Fred said.
"We're supposed to take you down to her office," George said. I looked at Ron confused then we turned to Harry and Hermione. I got close to Hermione's ear.
"Hermione, in Goshawk's Guide to Herbology there's a specific plant, it'll help. Gillyweed does the trick. He can breathe underwater and swim like a fish. It's the book Neville was reading." I whispered and walked off. I saw her grin at me and I grinned back as I did a little salute.
"What was that?" Fred asked.
"Oh, nothing. Just a tip." I said with a grin. We walked to Professor McGonagall's office. Inside the room was Cho Chang which was the girl that Cedric went with to the Yule Ball. There was also a young girl that looked like a younger Fleur. Dumbledore was in here as well.
"Uh, so what's going on?" I asked.
"We're going to put you under a spell for the second task. Don't worry, it's only a bewitched sleep. You all will be quite safe and will awake when you are up out of the water." Dumbledore said.
"Wait -- wait. What if we can't swim?" I said. Of course I could swim, I just didn't really want to be apart of anything.
"Well, be lucky it's nothing for you to be worried about." Dumbledore said as he gave me a wink. He took out his wand and swished it at us. I felt my body drift off to a peaceful slumber.
