Chapter 11: This Can't Happen

After Viktor and I worked things out, everything had been much better. I didn't care about the howlers and all the hate notes anymore, that was the least of my troubles. All I really cared right now was that Viktor and I finally were back together.

I was back to my eating once again and I came out of my dorm more than I usually did. I've been spending my days hanging with Viktor and my friends, and studying for the upcoming exams that have yet to be taken.

When June began, I haven't seen anything that Rita Skeeter has written so far. Looks like she finally gave up, I hope. I couldn't wait for the third task to begin. Cedric told me that they had to go through a maze to get to the cup. I never really understood why they used a cup in the first place.

Why did they ever decide to use a cup? Why not a trophy? What is the winner going to do with a giant cup anyways? Put a gallon of butterbeer in it and fail to drink it because it's so large?

"Aquila, after all of this, I vont you to meet my parents. At the evening feast." Viktor said. My eyes widened. He wants me to do what now?

"Um, okay. . ." I said as he walked towards the chamber where we was supposed to meet up with his parents. I walked off towards my lessons. Tonight was the third task.

When it was the evening feast, I looked around to find Viktor anywhere near the Slytherin table. I saw him with two older people that Viktor had inherited himself from. I smiled and walked over to them.

"Hello," I mumbled shyly.

"Mother, Father, this is Aquila. The one I've been telling you about." Viktor said. The woman, which was Viktor's mother, grinned sweetly at me. Although she was old, she looked really beautiful.

"Ah, ve've been vaiting to meet you," she said and shook my hand. "How are you?"

"I'm doing well. It's very nice to meet the both of you." I said.

"You as vell. Viktor has told us many things about you. Ve are proud that both of you are happy together." Viktor's father said. I smiled at him reassuringly.

"We are very happy. But we have yet to be too serious in the relationship." I said.

"I've invited her to our country, father." Viktor said. The man beamed into a grin.

"Vonderful!" He said. "Ve vood love to have you over for the summer."

"I would love to visit such a beautiful country," I grinned. They both grinned back at me. We ate the food which had a lot of courses.

"Ladies and gentlemen, in five minutes' time, I will be asking you to make your way down to the Quidditch field for the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament. Will the champions please follow Mr. Bagman down the stadium now." Dumbledore said.

I applauded when all four champions stood up and they began to walk with Mr. Bagman out of the Great Hall towards the Quidditch field. Viktor had kissed me on the cheek before walking off.

After they all left, Dumbledore told us to head down and fill in the stands as if it was a Quidditch match. I stood next to Hermione and Ron.

"I can't wait for it to start," Hermione said.

"I can't wait to see who wins," Ron said. Hermione and I rolled our eyes. Typical Ron. . .

"Ladies and gentlemen, the third and final task of the Triwizard Tournament is about to begin! Let me remind you how the points currently stand!" Mr. Bagman shouted. "Tied in first place, with eighty-five points each, Mr. Cedric Diggory and Mr. Harry Potter, both of Hogwarts School!" We all clapped and I shouted for both of them. Neither Ron nor Hermione knew I was clapping for Cedric. I'm going to have to tell them soon. You know what? I've kept this secret long enough, I'll tell them after this is all over.
