Tenia Wile had woken up like it was any other day.
But she was wrong, for today would be the last day alive for her.
Walking home from Sinto High School, she passed the woods, unaware that a figure stand, watching her movements. Then, faster than Tenia could react, she was grabbed, her bag falling off her shoulder and landing on the concrete sidewalk.
"Help!" She screamed, biting down on her attacker's hand. It was gloved, but the figure must have felt the pain, because their grip loosened, enough for her to break free of their hold. She bolted into the woods, branches and shrubs scratching her bare arms and legs. Her attacker followed her, tackling her from behind. She fell to the ground with a grunt.
"Get off of me!" She yelled, kicking and punching her attacker. The figure pinned her arms by her wrists, using their weight to keep Tenia held down. From their pocket came a cord. The person wrapped the wire around her neck, winding it tighter with every coil.
Soon, Tenia was fighting not only her attacker, but also the urge to give in to the safe haven of sleep.
Finally, her need for oxygen became to great, causing her to black out.
She didn't wake up afterwards.
