"Come away with me to Neverland!"
"But what about Aunt Sara?"
"Just for the night then, but if you want I will come again tomorrow night to take you so that you never grow up ever!" peter whispered in my ear.
"Never is an awfully long time," I replied,"But I will come with you tonight."
A grin then crept across his face as he took my hand and stepped out the window. "Just think happy thoughts and focus on them," he reminded me, "Do you trust me?"
"Yes I trust you Peter Pan" and with that I stepped out the window and away we flew to Neverland.
*End of Flashback*
I remember that night so clearly. It was the best night of my whole messed up life, if you could call it a night. In Neverland you could never tell for there was no time. Peter took me to Neverland where we had many adventures with pirates, Indians, lost boys, mermaids, fairies, and everything else you could imagine. That 'night' I fell in love for the first and last time. Peter was just so amazing in every way possible and more. I was planning on going back for good the next night. Just the thought of being thirteen forever with him. But when I flew back to my house that changed. There were ambulance and police and doctors surrounding and inside my house. I went to one and asked what had happened and they told me that my Aunt Sara had died of a stroke. I then broke down in tears and they told me to pack my things. I was going back to an orphanage. Peter Pan visited me that night. I told him I couldn't go and that I needed to pay my respects at my aunts funeral, after that he left. I thought that he would come back the next night but I was wrong. The next day I left to the orphanage and was too busy to think about those types of things.
"Creak" the sound of the door opening into the level 9 girls room snapped me out of my thoughts. Quickly I closed my eyes trying the best I could to look asleep. If General Cher caught me awake I would get the whip, and one can only take so many lashes in a day.
"Wake Up Solider's!!" Like zombies the girls and I of level 9 made our beds and got dressed before making our way to breakfast. All through breakfast ( if you could call a spoon of who knew what breakfast) and training I was in deep thought. A few weeks back I had heard of a ship sailing to distant lands, it was supposedly leaving any day know, if I had heard correctly. As the day dragged on I devised a plan. I would hide my bag outside the basement window when I went down after training to put away the equipment. Then after dinner I would do my usual chore of sweeping the front porch and wrap around deck. When I would get to the portion of the deck near the basement window I would grab my bag and run to the docks. It wasn't the best plan but it was still a plan that would come to life tonight.
"Finish her!" General Cher ordered, "finish her now!"
I felt terrible doing this to Kelley. She was currently laying on her back unable to move because of me being on top of her with a sword at her neck. She looked at me with longing eyes but I shut my own and obeyed Cher. Even though every single nerve in my body hated it I turned away from her lifeless, headless, figure telling myself that she was just another opponent. I couldn't take it anymore as Cher gave me an approving nod, that was the last time I would listen to her. Following my plan I helped put the equipment away. When I was down there I slide my bag out the window as well as a bow and arrows, knives set, sword, and one gun. It might if been called 'stealing' in someone's book, but in mine it was called 'preparing for the world and what it held in it.'
"Part one accomplished" I thought.
After that we were all sent up to our rooms to wash up for supper. Once supper was over General Jace began giving orders.
"Chores! Do them with excellence or else!" he barked. Right away we all left to do our chores. I grabbed broom and stepped onto the porch in the cool autumn night. I was wearing my black converse, jeans, and grey hooded sweater, making me blend into the night, thankfully. As I began sweeping the deck I became more and more excited. Finally I reached the basement window where my stuff lay in a pile under a bush. I checked to make sure the coast was clear then made a run for it until I reached a alley a few blocks down. I couldn't believe I was actually running away, for years I had thought about it but know I was finally doing it. Looking at my watch I saw that I had ten minutes until they sent us to our rooms and before they would notice my absence. Peeking around the corner and down the street I saw the docks and only a few people strolling down the street. Coming out of the alley I began casually walking down the street. Before I knew it I was staring a sign that read 'Malsberry Shipyard.' Scanning the boats I found the one that was traveling to distant lands. It was a good sized ship reminded me of the pirate ships from ''Pirates of the Caribbean." I studied I carefully it carefully looking for someway to get on without being seen. I must of being starring for awhile because a man came up to me and said,"It's a beauty isn't it? To bad it's leaving tomorrow at dawn." It's is? Really? Shoot, that means I have to get on tonight!
"Oh really it is?" I asked, "Do you know where it's sailing?"
"Yup I should know I'm sailing on it, but it's destination is truly unknown. We are sailing into uncharted waters."
I nodded and he hobbled off to the ship, it wasn't until then that I noticed he only had one leg. What type of crew was this?
