Chapter 40

Shinichi's POV

As soon as I was certain that baka of a chemist was asleep,I slowly slipped out of her embrace.Her waking was one thing,her safety is another and most importantly slaughtering whoever who hurt her was yet another.

_sound of phone ringing_

"Hey Yataka I want you to take Shiho in.To headquaters"I barked orders at him

"Right now we don't have space and its risky,Shinichi.Much rumours are flying about and it iSnT safe"He replied solemnly

"Anywhere would be safer than this hospital.Prepare 4 cards to the underground room.Lock up the doors.We will take the secret elevator up."I lamented

"Shinchi this is-"Yataka rebutted before I rudely interrupted

"I don't care,Yataka.Her safety is my priority, the safety of everyone is my responsibility and one I need to bear.Right now."I argued

"Fine.Ill switch the CCTV off for 30mins.Rush here."He hissed in frustration

"Roger."Was my only reply before the line went dead.

Gathering Hattori and Kaito,I told them both of the arrangement I had made.Nodding,they slipped into their FBI prescribed items as I took out a syringe.

"Shi I'm so sorry."I mumbled before plunging the syringe in.The anesthesia should be in place soon.There would be no cost untaken to get her to somewhere safer.

"Shinichi the car is ready.Me and Hattori would flank you.Rush up the car first"

"Roger thanks bud" I went on ahead up the car,placed Shiho at the backseat then jumped into the driver seat.

"Up!"I shouted at them as they rushed up the car,full instincts still scanning the area.

Better safe than sorry.

On the drive to Headquaters,I updated both Hattori and Kaito about some new information I had found and how I would still be staying there for quite some time,considering the pile of research all over the ground,table and even the couches.

"Hey man even though I aint good at reading and research and stuff like that I want to help you.Is there anything I can help out with?"Kaito offered.

"Nothing much at the moment,but there is definitely something that you can help out with.As the famous Kaito Kid,you will have contacts all over.Right now,tell them there is the offer of them getting handsomely rewarded for any information about the Black Organisation.Also,find a safe refuge for our snitches.Ill leave it all to you,Kai!"I gave him the smile comprising of all the goodwill I had in me as a show of forgiveness towards all of him.

"Aye aye,sir!"He joked as Hattori and I bit back our chuckle

"What about me?"Hattori questioned

"Dont worry,workaholic.For you,I definitely need someone to take care of me and Shiho,as well as help out with the sourcing and much more.However,your priorities at this moment is to secure all of us a reliable supplier for firearms.Considering the status of your father and your identity,that shouldn't be too difficult for you wont it"I asked of him and a nod was the only sign of agreement from him.

"Good.As soon as we reach the headquarters,we start work immediately.As for Shiho,Ill deal with her don't worry.Hattori and Kaito,I need both of you to go see Yataka first.In this situation,we cannot place full trust on him,but we have to trust him for now and see how it moves on"As I continued,I told both of them how Yataka made me work for him,even if we both had a common goal and a common enemy.

"That bastard"Kaito roared,his hands balling into fists as Hattori made an attempt to calm his furious friend down.

By the time that volcano calmed down,they had reached the secret carpark of the FBI Headquarters,Tapping his access card,he led Kaito and Hattori in,who were carrying Shiho in that bag.

They entered the vast room,placing Shiho into the guest room after getting her out of the stuffy bag.Yataka had made a couple cups of coffee and brought some simple snacks,placing them on the table stacked with books and files as he laid slumped on the chair in exhaustion.

"I dealed with them all.Security,top agents,who were asking me why the security cameras were suddenly faulty.That was traumatic.How was the journey here?"He asked in courtesy

"Not much of a problem.I know you must have much to say to all of us here but after the long trip i think we deserve a break,at least for the rest of the day.We had a bunch of action as well"I grumbled as Yataka got up and nodded before taking his leave for the day.

Taking my rest on the couch,all 3 of us were drifting to sleep when a loud yell of SHINICHI had me rushing into the room,my mind screaming.

Shiho.

Shiho.

Shiho.
