I could feel everyone’s gazes on us and frankly speaking I couldn’t care less. After all this time I am finally happy and at peace- I can’t possibly ask for more. After Seth cleared his throat Manvi too realized the position we were in and her face turned crimson. Sensing that she felt uncomfortable I set her down but I wrapped my fingers around hers to keep her from moving away. I didn’t want to explain anything to anyone but sensing their curious glances at us I decided to give them at least something to ponder over.
“Long story short Manvi is my best friend and we went to the same high school.” I added quickly making sure to remind her that she still is my best friend even though she abandoned me without any explanation. From my peripheral vision I could see her turn a shade darker with embarrassment. Right then all I wanted was to wrap my arms around her and hold her close. It was causing me pain to stay away from her but I knew I had to control myself because she had no idea about my feelings and I still need to figure out why she ran away.
Pointing towards the rest of the group I ordered, “You all go ahead we’ll meet you at the restaurant.”
Then pointing towards Manvi I added, “And you are coming with me.”
Before she could reply Sara strode towards us and began yelling at Manvi. “I thought I told you to stay away.” She pried our hands away and dragged Manvi away from me. “I don’t share and Virat is mine”, she said sternly and shoved Manvi towards the door. “Get out and don’t you ever come back.”
Before I could even react Manvi glared at Sara and warned her, “Take your hands off me or I am going to beat you to pulp.”
I guess Sara wasn’t expecting Manvi to retaliate so she nervously moved a step back. This made Manvi step closer to her and get her point across, “Just because I have been listening to your insults these past few days doesn’t mean I will do so forever. Next time if you talk to me in that tone I’ll make sure you regret it.” Here I was ready to help Manvi out but seeing the shock on Sara’s face I am debating if I should just take Manvi away from here. How did I manage to forget that she is a little tigress and she usually does a pretty good job of defending herself? I guess I will wait it out and let her yell at Sara because if I take her away from here she’ll direct her anger towards me and I so don’t want that.
“Virat is not someone’s property for you to claim. Frankly speaking I don’t ever want to get close to someone that has been with you so thank you very much but I’m not interested and for all I care you can have him.” I didn’t know whether to be proud of her for standing up for herself or be mad at her for dismissing me like that. Arghh this girl always confuses me. I’ll go with being angry at her.
“Enough.” I strode towards them and glared at Manvi. Holding her by her elbow I dragged her closer to me. She tried to protest but I glared at her. Pointing towards Sara I ordered, “Out.”
“Virat.” She tried to oppose me but I wasn’t going to have it. “All of you get out. I’ll meet you at the restaurant.”
Luckily they knew not to cross me when I am mad so everyone except Manvi left quietly. She tried to leave instead I dragged her by her elbow towards my room and locked the door.
She stood by the window fuming at me. If it was any other time I would have laughed at her expression and probably joked about it but I was pretty mad myself to find anything funny.
“What do you want from me?” She all but snarled at me which made me snap at her too.
“You know what you are not even worth it. Get out.” As soon as I said the words I immediately regretted it. She looked hurt and she immediately moved towards the door.
