It's Tuesday again after a very long week. I don't want to go to the counsellor.
On the good side of things is that me and Chris have gotten closer, so now I can call him a friend. I'm happy with myself. He helps me a lot, and even takes time out of his day to help me with school work. I actually passed a test on Monday.
I said goodbye to Chris and Clover and headed down to the office. Though I don't think Chris is going to leave. The principal let me into the room Diana and I were in last time and inside I find an old Japanese man instead.
I stop in the doorway blinking in confusion.
He was kind of pacing and he looks up. "Ah, you must be, Luna Knight. How are you?" He asked in a very calm voice, but deep.
"I'm okay. Who are you? Where's Diana?" I ask, walking in and closing the door.
"She is not well, so I will taking her place." He said with a smile, opening an arm to tell me to come in and sit.
I look around him, and see that there's pillows on the floor with a short table. We're sitting on the floor? I guess that makes sense with his origin.
I walk over and take a cushion, while he takes the other.
"Luna, you can call me Master Fu." He said, still with a smile. And I just nod, nervous as heck right now. "Tell me Luna, why are you here?"
I lower my head, knowing Fu won't believe me. "I can hear voices."
He nods, smoothing out his beard. He must've known cause he doesn't look surprised.
"Interesting. When did it start?" Fu asked.
I look up at him with wide eyes out of shock. "What does that mean? You believe me? Or are you just playing along with me?" I ask, questions building.
He held up his hand and lowered it so I wouldn't keep talking. "Luna, there are lots of magical things in this world. Even when one person says it's not true, doesn't mean it isn't. There are lots of things in this world we don't understand. And lots of creatures." He says as calmly as ever. "In other words, yes, I believe you."
I can only blink. Someone believes me, and is helping me.
"I'll ask again, when did this start?"
I clear my throat so I can speak. "I don't really remember. As long as I can remember. At least when I was 7. But they weren't always shouting."
"Shouting? About what?" He asked.
"I.....I don't know. About me saving someone. I don't know what's going on." I tell him honestly.
He nods, smoothing his beard again. Like he's putting the pieces together. Whatever pieces he has.
"Luna, I'm going to ask you to do something you don't want to do. Let the voices in." He says, putting the back of his hands on his knees like he's meditating.
"What!? I want them to go away and you want me to listen to all that screaming!? No way!" I shouted back at the old man. I felt a little bad.
"Luna. For them to go away, you have to listen to them." He tells me. Though I feel like he's hiding something from me. "Try it. I will be right here. I want to see if you can do it on your own."
Sighing I nod, and lower my head and close my eyes. This feels really stupid. But I do try. I try to focus on one voice, but more just chime in. I can't take it and grab my head. I feel a hand press on top of my head and everything stops. I look up, to see Master Fu smiling.
"Not bad for your first time, Ms. Knight." He praised. It kind of felt good. "Luna. You have a mighty gift. I huge burden for a child. I pity you."
Was that supposed to make me feel better? Cause it didn't.
