Everett shuffled through the marketplace, hardly bothering to pick up his feet at all. His forest green eyes sunk into the ground so he wouldn't catch attention to himself. He took a sharp right, weaving through the people around him until he reached a clearing. He looked around wistfully, his hands wringing out his sweatshirt pockets. The sun beat down on him, causing his under-shirt to stick to his skin in a sweaty glue.

His eyes widened in alarm. About twenty feet in front of him was a young man screaming, lungs bursting to another, older man. In his right hand he gripped a pistol, ready at any moment to fire. In front of him, the older man held his hands up in alarm. He was shaking in terror. He looked around nervously, silently crying for help. The people around looked down, as if they were ashamed for their timidness. Everett could not hear exactly what the piercing screams of the first man were saying, but he could see the look of alarm it brought to the other man. Or maybe it was just the gun.

A loud bang flooded the street, causing winces from bystanders, but no one stopped. They knew the Keepers would handle it. The older man doubled over in pain, just before he collapsed to the ground. Everett stepped backwards, holding his hands over his agape mouth. The furious man standing brought down his gun and cooled his gaze. He around, smirking, before he strolled down the street, following the flow of the crowd on the sidewalks. No one thought twice about him. No one looked down at the body on the blazing street.

Everett glanced at the man and winced. Blood was pooling around his chest, as he moaned violently. He sobbed for help. He coughed, blood spurting out, sizzling in the beating sun's gaze.

Everett looked around to the people around him, rage shooting through him like a poison. He slowly walked towards the man, arms gently crossed, guarding his stomach, as his concerned eyes looked the man over. Tears pooled around his eyes as he watched the man's pale brown eyes glaze over in defeat. His spirit seemed to float away from his body, leaving the corpse to rot on the ground.

A girl broke from the wave of people, crying after what she just witnessed. She flew to the man's side, sobbing profusely now. She looked towards the murderer in disgust as he frolicked down the street, not looking back. Her eyes flickered in recognition to him, which she just screamed in rage. She looked to the man besides her, and her gazed softened and filled with sadness. She held the man's hand up to her cheek and cried out in frustration. Tears streamed down her porcelain cheek, as she gently brushed her hand over the man's eyes, closing them for eternity.

Everett watched, as he furrowed his brow in confusement. The girl looked up, noticing him for the first time. Her penetrating blue stare pierced into his heart. He furrowed his brow...he knew that stare. He had seen it before, in some other lifetime long before this one. He looked curiously at her, as she looked up. It was like she was reading him...trying to figure him out.

Smoke filled Everett's nostrils as he reluctantly broke his gaze and looked into the distance. It was the Medics. Someone must have alerted them. Or maybe they just knew something happened. That happened quite often as well. It was like they had eyes everywhere. No one was safe.

As the lone vehicle approached, the girl looked up, her eyes filled with rage which confused Everett. The fact that they were here to help was good...right?

Ten, tight uniformed Medics burst out of the truck, looking around suspiciously, until they saw the murder scene on the street. They crowded around the man and Kaden as she held him protectively in her arms, glaring up around her. One of the men, a dark eyed middle-aged man ripped her up, dragging her from the man as she fought and screamed in rage. She glanced towards Everett, and she stopped fighting, but her determined eyes penetrated into the Medics swarming around her. If looks could kill, every one of them would be dead ten times over.
