"We probably should get you to bed seeing as it's your wedding tomorrow night," Kelly mentioned.
"I won't be able to sleep," I said.
"Believe me when I say you need your sleep," Kelly said weirdly.
I looked at her funny, "Why? You know you've been acting weird like you did when Warren had to ask me to marry him on my birthday."
"No I'm not," Kelly defended.
"Yes you have," I said.
"Well then there's something wrong with you because I don't know what you're talking about," Kelly said stuffing her face full of popcorn.
I rolled my eyes. These past few weeks have been weird I mean everywhere I walked into a room people's voices would go quiet. Everyone was acting really weird about everything. I wonder if it has anything to do with what I heard two weeks and four days ago. I had crawled down to get a drink of water (at my dad's house this time the Kennish's came to stay with us,) when I heard Mark and Bianca fighting.
"Bianca you know this is real," Mark shouted.
"It's a scam," Bianca argued.
"You even came with and you saw the results. You can even see it by looking at me," Mark argued.
"No," Bianca refused.
I stayed still behind the kitchen door confused. What were they talking about?
"Bianca this is getting out of control any way. I mean who goes around making their children have arranged marriages?" Mark asked.
"The people who have signed the contract," Bianca confirmed.
"Forget the contract Bianca, what we are doing to our own kids is not right. Once they our out of the house and marry those people you set them up with they will never see us again. They'll want nothing to do with us, is that what you want?" Mark asked.
"Its tradition," Bianca seethed.
"Bianca it is not tradition on my side. The only reason we married was because your father was broke and the only way to get out of debt was to trick my father into thinking that bringing our families together would end rivalries," Mark stated.
"Are you saying I'm a gold digger?" Bianca asked.
I almost snickered at that remark.
"Yes," Mark admitted as Bianca gasped, "Why else would you choose all these families who have wealth. The only one who didn't was Mr. Draper, but because of the job you gave him now he's almost as wealthy as us."
"That is not true," Bianca said snottily.
"It is, it will never be enough will it?" Mark asked.
Bianca didn't say anything.
"Is it?" Mark repeated.
"I'm not going to sit here and take this," I heard Bianca stand up ready to leave.
"Just tell me one thing then," Mark started, "Do you even love me anymore?"
Silence. I had eaves dropped to long. Without staying to hear the rest of it I snuck back upstairs forgetting about my drink of water.
"Cassandra," Kelly said shaking me from my thoughts.
I looked over at her, "Yeah?"
"Its ten thirty please go to bed," Kelly begged.
"Fine but I'm taking something to help me sleep," I said.
"Fine," Kelly agreed.
Taking a small sleeping pill I went to my room and laid down thinking about everything else that's happened these past two weeks and six days. My bachelorette party was us going to a carnival which was super fun. Kelly had planned the whole thing and even though there wasn't many of us; I still had a blast. Mom then helped me plan the wedding let me pick everything I wanted seeing as this would be my only wedding. I don't know how mom did it but she somehow kept Bianca from getting to the plans and messing the whole thing up. I even got the perfect wedding dress. The only problem was I was marrying Warren.
