(your pov still)
day one of moving in.
New York was gorgeous. i love the city, the lights.
but i missed Hawkins, how small and cozy the town was.
i mostly missed Mike, the light and love of my life.
i placed the remaining boxes down in my room.
i hung up some decorations and played some music.
then, Every Breath You Take came on.
it reminded me of the snowball dance, the first time Mike and i kissed, well more of a peck because we were so new at this 'relationships' thing.(flash back)
"y-you look great" Mike stuttered, not really finding his words.
"great?" i said, a tad disappointed.
"beautiful" he corrected himself, "stunning. i'm sorry i was too distracted by... you"
both of our cheeks went pink.
"thank you. you look amazing yourself"
he nodded a thank you.
there was a pause before Mike bravely spoke up, "do you want to dance?"
i smiled, "i'd be happy to"
he lead me out into the middle of the gym, and we place our hands on each other gently.
Mike couldn't help but smile, and his smile made me smile.
at the perfect timing, he leaned in and kissed my lips.
when we pulled back, i blushed and looked down at my feet for a second.
then, i pulled him into a hug.
that was one of the best nights of my life.(end of flashback)
god, i missed him so much.
i went into the small kitchen to grab a drink.
on the counter, there was mail sprawled across the tile.
one of them was labeled with my name.
i picked it up.
the return address said it was from Mike.
Mike!
i immediately opened it.
" every love story is beautiful, my ours is my favorite "
he wrote.
i smiled a toothy smile.
i miss you i miss you i miss youthe cute thing was he sent me a letter, each day. with a new love poem written on it. he wrote one every day and sent it to me. i received one every day for 100 days. by the time i packed up to go back to Hawkins, i had received 100 precious letters from him.
*knock knock*
i stood in front of the wheelers door, waiting to surprise Mike.
it was opened by the boy himself.
"y/n!!!!" he exclaimed and shoved his body into my arms.
we hugged for what felt like eternity.
he finally pulled back and we both smiled into each other's eyes.
"did you get my letters?" he asked, inviting me inside.
"yep" i blushed, "every single 100 of them" i chuckled.
then, i pulled out a cute little box, decorated with flowers and hearts.
i opened that box, revealing a pile of letters, "i kept them"
".....all of them?"
"all of them"
he looked down at the letters then back up at me.
that's when he kissed me, not a peck, a passionate kiss.
