Recap:
After the Clarks were out of sight, Stephanie walked out of the stolen truck. Her head throbbing from what all she had witnessed. The Clarks had already left the premises, walking home-unaware of the fact that someone was at their heels. Stephanie had removed her hood and the rain cover and kept both of them in her bag. That was when she had noticed a needle stuck to her bag. It was the same thing that Marc had shot at her.
When I reach home, I'll take care of this.
When Stephanie reached her house, she ran up the stairs- brushing off the questions her mother asked by saying that she had some work after school.
Stephanie kept her bag and looked at the needle.
It was blue in colour with a very small machine attached to it. Stephanie got strange vibes-as if it was some GPS tracker. Before she could think straight, she went to the garage, got a hammer from the drawer and ran back up the stairs. Then she struck the needle with the hammer, as it made short-circuiting sounds.
She lied on her bed. Her hands spread across the soft mattress. She turned and looked at the hammer. Something clicked to her. Marc would be coming tomorrow. To tutor her about all the work she had missed the past two months. A strange foreboding crept her- the meeting will not be normal.
Marc.
Strange thoughts clouded her mind-
What if there is a change in the schedule? What if there was a password? What if the Clarks figure it out themselves? Did Marc see her? Was he trying to protect her? But why would he bring evidence against her? What if the needle was important to her? Maybe it was actually a clue, Marc was trying to give her? How far will all this go? Who are these people? So many 'what ifs', so many chances, so many variables- and only one fingerprint, one family....
One boy.

The next day,
In an unknown building,
11: 30 am,
Marc" I am really grateful to all of you, " Jerry said with a sincere tone.
" Actually we should be thankful to you, " Megan stated, " You just gave us the chance of sneaking out of the school, I was so not ready to attend another Geography class, right Marc? "
She looked at me intently as I nodded.
Lee asked, " Jerry is there a reason why you brought us here? "
Tony-" You could have called us or something "Jerry clasped his hands like a leader and said-" It is about the GPS tracker Marc had put on the pursuer in the warehouse "
That got my attention.
" What did you find? " I inquired staring into his eyes.
" Sadly we don't have any data, the last place the bullet was seen was in the warehouse-70, where your pursuer managed to get away. " He said and I could sense that he was holding back a frown.
I banged my palm on Jerry's table in anticipation. I need to know something about this girl.... Something... Anything.
That was when Tony spoke up." Whoever this girl is seems to be around our age, " Tony began then said, "... Marc has seen her eye-to-eye"
That was all for everyone to turn their heads towards me.
" You did not tell us anything about that, " Lee said folding his arms, waiting for an answer. He always does this when he is ready to scold one of us. I looked at Meg as her voice rang in my head.
Twin telepathy.
"Any guesses? "
I formed the words in my head.
" I am not sure. "
" You are hiding something..."
Saved by the bell, Jerry's phone rang up.
" Okay, I'll be there" He said and hung up. What happened? He wiped his face with his handkerchief-" By the look of your faces, you are curious 'bout what happened. So come with me. " And then he started walking.
We looked at each other then followed him which was quiet tough.
Hey, you should never underestimate an old man.I am glad that Jerry can't read my mind.

We waited as Jerry had an interrogation with the handcuffed man he showed us a few minutes ago. It was not like a police- interrogation, just a better version of 20 questions.
The four of us were sitting on a coach, doing different things. I was just hacking into the teacher's log to make sure that all my homework was complete for next week. Megan was reading a magazine, Tony was eating a sandwich and Lee was just staring at me. I was the only one not looking- correction, trying not to look in the eye of my siblings because it would give them the perfect opportunity for them to ask questions about the mystery girl.
Why am I trying to protect her?
Megan was subtly getting in my head, literally.
We both know you are hiding something.
I tried to brush it off a couple of times and sometimes answered that I don't know.
Why am I going against my siblings?
Jerry entered the room, closing the door behind us.
All of us said at once-" Please tell me that was not Charles. " And we looked at each other. Just looked at each other. Until we sharply turned out heads towards Jerry.
"Yes" was his only answer as he sat on a chair right in front of us.
It is an inside job.
But the thing that scared me was that-
Charles knows everything about our activities. He is in charge of all the virtual data and if he is working for someone against us, then that mystery girl is in grave danger.I am 60℅ sure that it was Stephanie. Her body structure, her running techniques and her bated breaths( which is different from the ones we usually chase after). But all this is just not in her nature. She doesn't behave like this.
But then I have only known her for like 3 days or so. Who am I to say I know her? I am not even sure if it was her. So why should I keep my thoughts locked up, it would be so much better if I say it to someone...
Anyways I will find it out today itself- who could possibly the mystery girl.
But if it is Stephanie then-
Stephanie you have made a big mistake. You have just entered the lions den.
I looked at Tony who was staring at the last piece of his sandwich. It seems as if I was betraying all of them. I looked at Jerry as he started speaking, a war raging in my head. The cliche- To do or not to do.
It seems as if I am no different from Charles.
