Around me was greedy angry players waiting for me to pass the ball. I watched their greed faces and gave out a wry smile. I had my back facing the basketball net pole and continually bounced the ball to the ground.

"Black, stop playing around." the couch yelled from the field. A teammate tried taking the ball away from me and I made a u-turn. He cussed out and I smiled at him.

"Devin what are you doing?" he asked.

"It's all yours, come get it." He tried taking it away and this time, I bounced the ball to the ground, jumped in the air and got the ball rolling in the net. "Weak ass fellas." I said to them and headed out of the court.

"Weak ass fellas?" he asked and held my shoulder to stop me from leaving. "Hey, I heard you let Tim get your girl." he scornfully said and they burst out laughter. "Why don't you take your strong ass and get your girl back, huh." he laughed with them.

The problem with ugly-scaring looking people is that, they don't learn to mind their business. They poke their crooked nose into other peoples business and get them angry like how I was.

"Too scared?"

"Yeah. I'm too scared of what I'm about to do to you." My mouth went together with my hand and I threw a fist to his eye. I had his blood on my hand while he screamed for help. Our coach ran to the field and the other guys helped this guy stand on his feet.

"Devin are you out of your mind!" Coach yelled.

    "Sorry." I grinned.

"See me in my office now!"

"Right."  I heaved a sigh of relief. They carried him out of the court and coach and I were the only ones at the field. "He got in my head." I said and he glared at me.

"What's going on with you? You seem out of it these days."

"I'm fine." he looked at me anxiously. "I really am okay. I'm just... just having a hard time."

"I don't want your dad to hear about this. Stop hitting people in the eye please. Don't leave any bad records here. It'll be bad for you."

"You're not going to put that on my profile right?"

"I'll think about it." he smiled at me and headed out. "Go home and think about what you've done." he said and I laughed.

I've already thought about it and I do not regret it.

Everyone looked at me at the changing room while I dressed up to leave. "Got something to say?" I asked.

"You did him bad Devin." Josh said. "He can lose an eye."

"He'll start minding his business with just an eye." I put on my shirt and picked up my bag. "See you all next time." I waved at them.
They should start minding their business.

My relationship with Kai was on the lips of everyone who knew us. Some predicted we won't last for a month and we proved them wrong. They looked forward so much to seeing us break up. They all wanted to own her like Tim is doing now. I was cautious of my ways with her so I won't lose her. None of that mattered. We... no, she broke up with me in the end.

I stepped out of the basketball gym and Kai stood outside looking around. Was she there for me? She wore a jean short and a mini top with a black bandana on her head. Why did she have to be so beautiful? "Kai," I called and she turned to me.

"Devin. Are you okay?" she asked worriedly and stepped closer to me touching my face and hands. "You look okay. Oh God, you scared me." What's happening?
