"So Yoongi and Jimin are a thing now."

Jungkook looked up from the TV dully, remote lazily in hand from late evening channel surfing. He raised an eyebrow and stared at his red-headed roommate, who was staring at his phone in slightly bewilderment.

"Are they?"

Taehyung nodded and removed his feet from the coffee table, planted them on the floor, and leaned forward to show Jungkook the text conversation between himself and Jimin.

Jungkook's eyes scanned over the block of messages, the corner of his mouth quirked up into a lopsided smile. "Well, good for them. He seems pretty excited."

"Mhm." Taehyung nodded, reclining back into the couch once again. "I'm happy for them." He said and Jungkook nodded in agreement as he returned to his bored channel surfing.

His gaze returned to the flashing television screen while Taehyung's slowly lifted from his phone screen to briefly glance at Jungkook while he awaited a response from Jimin. This brief glance turned out to be much longer than he had intended. Jungkook was unaware, so there wasn't necessarily any harm in him staring for more than a few seconds, but when Taehyung's eyes looked over the males soft, boyish features, his heart twinged. Oh, how he adored him.

This must be how Jimin feels when he looks at Yoongi, right? Taehyung has seen the look of longing in Jimin's eyes many times before; that look of adoration and awe.

How could a single human hold the entire galaxy in their eyes like that? Taehyung recalled Jimin telling him once in regards to his now-boyfriend.

It was true for Jungkook, as well, except the doe-eyed boy seemed to show more than just their own comprehensible galaxy. Taehyung had heard once that there were many more galaxies out there than just their own, there were almost 100 billion of them out there. Taehyung believed that Jungkook's eyes held each and every star and planet a part of all 100 billion and counting. It sounded absurd, truly, but Taehyung swore on his life that every moment he looked into his eyes he was transported to another world.

The other exception was that Jimin could now openly share this loving expression with Yoongi.

Taehyung could not do so with Jungkook. It made his heart sink.

How cruel was life to grant Taehyung with such overwhelming emotion for this boy only to be forced to choke it down?

"I'm, um, gonna go to bed." Taehyung stood up from the furniture.

Jungkook hummed a form of acknowledgement and Taehyung had just then noticed that his roommate had settled on a late night talk show program as a last resort for entertainment.

Taehyung ran a hand through his hair and left the small living space, disappearing into the bedroom for the evening.

The next few weeks were both wonderful and uncomfortable. Now that Jimin and Yoongi had gotten together, the four of them ended up hanging out together a lot; usually just for meals. Questions were raised once Jimin posted a photo to his Instagram of the four of them at a coffee shop, and those questions were almost always in regards to Taehyung and Jungkook.

"For the last time, we were not on a double date! We're just four friends that went to grab coffee, and Taehyung and I decided to split a cinnamon roll. That's it." Jungkook had to emphasize to Jaehyung and Dowoon for days after, until they finally dropped it.

Taehyung chose to be quiet about it. He liked the idea of cute coffee shop dates, those were always something he liked the idea of. It was like a jab to the gut listening to Jungkook write it off so hurriedly, even if it was the truth.

After that debacle, Taehyung had gone to Yoongi seeking advice. He loved Jimin to death, but right now he needed someone who would be honest and not someone who would tell him anything to lift his spirits. If he needed to be smacked to the ground with cold reality, he knew Yoongi would be the one to do it with ease.

"You depressed, then? That Jungkook is just a total dickwad?" Yoongi folded his arms after he listened to a lengthy ramble from Taehyung.

Taehyung frowned more. "No, and he is not! I'm just... sad, hurt, maybe, and he's not a dickwad, he's just..." He furrowed his brow. "...he's not."

"From what you've told me, and from what I've observed myself, he's blocked himself off to some capacity. You want to be close, he's clearly preventing that somehow. Yes?" Yoongi sighed, and didn't even wait for a response before continuing. "Jungkook is a good kid, don't get me wrong. He's got a good heart, but he clearly doesn't know how to handle this sort of stuff."

"Handle what?" Taehyung sighed.

"I'm not finished." Yoongi shook his head and put up a hand. "Now, from what Jimin has told me, the kid get's antsy as hell when you get brought up. It's like when a kid is trying to act like they didn't peek at their Christmas presents early. 'Oh, Taehyung did that? That's cool, I guess.' 'I don't care about what Taehyung thinks, I just like to be considerate.' Dumb things like that... He's totally got something for you. It's just not at the point where he knows it himself, I think." Yoongi shrugged.

Taehyung looked at the ground and pursed his lips together. "Yoongi... I came to you for advice. Not to get my hopes up. That's exactly why I'm not talking to Jimin about this, you know that."

"I do. You told me, explicitly told me." Yoongi laughed dryly. "And my advice is, hang in there, but don't hang around forever. He has to come to the realization of whether or not he wants something or not."

"And how long do I wait? It feels like it's been forever, already." The younger male rolled his eyes exasperatedly.

Yoongi put a hand on his shoulder and smiled sympathetically. "That's not something I can tell you, Tae. Just give it time, trust your gut. Got it?"

Taehyung nodded and accepted the hug Yoongi then initiated before Taehyung left to his own apartment.

When he walked in, he could hear the shower running, which meant Jungkook was here. Taehyung trekked into the bedroom and sat on the edge of his bed to stare off into space in thought. He never expected to leave talking with Yoongi more emotionally confused than he already was beforehand.

But then again, weirder things have happened, haven't they?

hello

rough chapter but a chapter is a chapter, i suppose. I want to get this story moving, so it might only have a handful of chapters left because I can't see it being dragged out anymore than it already has. Many of you have been anticipating an update on this story, and since the semester has ended and I'm home for the holidays I figured I'd work on something here and there.
NOW:
This does NOT MEAN I WILL BE ACTIVE ON WATTPAD. I'm only writing this BECAUSE I have nothing else to do but sit at home all day. One or two more things might get put up, but by the time the next semester starts I'll be working more and have classes to focus on.

Thank you for your understanding. Love you guys<3
