A day has passed since Mizuki's betrayal. Since then, Yudai has refused to leave his clan compound, and only talked with his mother and at some points his father. Other then that, Yudai has remained unusually quiet.

The ninja headband of the leaf was tied lazily around his waist. Slumping to the side with the metal part on the left. Besides that, Yudai's outfit stayed relatively the same.

Blue jacket with a white fluffy hood, grey short sleeved shirt, black with a white striped jogging pants, and black ninja shoes. No sign of a kunai holder, sword, or shuriken could be seen. A red teardrop jewel hung from a thin gold chain atop his head. A gift from his mother.

"Yudai, a moment please." Sinan called out to his son who was currently brushing his mother's hair.

"Yes father." Yudai replied as he gave his mother a gentle kiss before entering his father's study.

Once inside, Yudai took some time to look around. The jounin vest his father wore on the night of the nine tails hung proudly on the wall. Below it was a dragon ANBU mask and his father's sword rested on a stand.

The study was simple and smelled of spices and the ocean. Since his father enjoyed the sea, Yudai was not at all surprised by the scent.

"Yudai, I would like to talk about your future as a ninja. Your mother and I think it best if you-" Sinan was cut off as his son raised a hand.

Soft silver eyes were rested on Sinan's golden eyes as Yudai spoke. His words were soft yet held great determination. Brushing some stray purple hair from his face, Sinan gave his son a gentle smile.

"If you believe you can handle it, then I wish you luck."

"Thank you, father." Yudai bowed before he left for the academy.

When he vanished up the road, Zahar approached her husband with a gentle smile and a tray of tea.

"He'll be alright." Zahar smiled as she took a cup.

"Indeed he will." Sinan grinned as he placed a soft a loving kiss to his wife's lips.

Yudai's POV

The village was as busy as ever. The new genin were all headed to the academy with smiles on their faces. As they passed, I took note at how they ran by me without a single word.

In the past, I wasn't bothered by it since I never noticed, but now... now I can see that what Mizuki said was right. The adults and kids only seemed to notice me is I did something worth noting.

Like landing without a sound, or disappearing in a flurry of snow. But if they bumped into me, they acted like I wasn't even there. Instead, they look at me like it was my fault.

Ugh, why me? Why couldn't my brothers be alive to handle the burden of the clan? And how did Mizuki know about the cursed kekkei genkai? I thought as I entered the academy.

"Yo, Yu, over here!" I turned to find Kiba and Shikamaru flagging me down.

Walking over to them, I put on a soft smile as I greet them. I listened to them talk before they turned their attention elsewhere. When they did, I walked over to my window seat to try and catch some sleep.

As I did, I couldn't help but notice the Uchiha's brooding gaze follow me. I pretended I didn't notice. That was one of the lessons my mother taught me when I enrolled into the academy.

Mother worked as an ANBU at an extremely early age. It wasn't until she met father did she quit and become a regular ninja. When she had children, she wanted to make sure they grew up happy but protected, so she taught each of us the art of assassination and several skills from her own clan.
