Yudai Nadare, Ice Dragon of Konoha

Episode 4: Cats and Alcohol

Yudai stared absently up at the sky.  Fluffy white clouds floated by at a leisurely pace while the birds twittered with excitement.

/Sasuke, I'm at point B./

Two rather large rukh sat atop Yudai's shoulders.  Most likely asleep and enjoying the warm weather along with their new partner.

/Sakura, I'm at point C./

Yudai had kept to his promise and had visited the Valley of the End.  What he found was very interesting seeing as the rukh were completely visible to everyone in the village, but only he could understand them.

/Naruto here, I'm at point A believe it./

The silver eyed teen was actually surprised to find that the black and white rukh actually had names.  And two famous names at that.

/Relax Naruto.  Yudai, what's your position?/

"Ready to intercept, point D." Yudai yawned as he contemplated on whether or not he should join his new found partners in sleeping.

/Alright team 7- Target has moved!  Yudai, move!/

With lightning speed, Yudai moved to intercept.  His quick movement caused the rukh to wake and flutter frantiquly after the albino.

Sasuke, Naruto, and Sakura moved to follow in hopes to corral their target into Yudai's path.  Since the Nadare had a limited amount of stamina, Kakashi wisly put him on intercept where it was a few quick movements to knock the target off course.

/What is your distance from the target?/ Kakashi asked through the radio headset.

/Five meters.  I'm ready to help Yudai./ Naruto replied.

/I'm ready as well./ Sasuke reported.

/Just give the signal./ Sakura joined in.

Unknown to them, Yudai was zero meters from the target.  Six feet in fact as he crouched on a low tree branch above the target's field of vision.

"This is ridiculous." Yudai grumbled as he moved the black rukh to his finger.

Ridiculous, yes.  Necessary for your development as a ninja, definitely. The black rukh twittered calmly.

Come now, Yudai.  Missions like these are to be expected at your level.  They will get harder in time. The white rukh assured.

Yudai nodded stiffly though he didn't exactly agree with the two.  A rustle of a bush brought his attention back to reality.  Looking down from his perch, Yudai resisted the urge to face palm as he watched Naruto dive for the target.

"I got em! I got em!" Naruto exclaimed as he held onto the escaped cat.

"Give him here, Whiskers.  He obviously doesn't appreciate being held like that." Yudai sighed as he leaped down from the tree.

/Can you confirm a red ribbon on the right ear?/ Kakashi asked as Yudai plucked the cat's claws from Naruto's face.

"Affirmative, we've got a positive ID." Sasuke replied coolly.

"Hey Yudai, when did you get pet butterflies?" Sakura asked as she gently poked the wing of the white rukh.

"They're not pets or butterflies Cherry.  These guys are actually part of my clan's kekkei genkai." Yudai replied (half lying) as he stroked the purring cat in his arms.

"Kekkei genkai?" Sakura tilted her head in slight confusion.

"Don't think to hard on it.  Iruka-sensei kinda brushed over it in class." Yudai yawned.
