"As from now onwards, Franca, you will live with Tyler. I think it is best for you and him to get to know each other before you get married" Daniel said, earning nods of agreement from Franca's parents.
Franca was irritated, she could not believe that such ill fate would befall her; she masked her feelings, smiling in agreement.
Daniel continued, "As today is Friday, you will pack your belongings to leave with Tyler for the weekend, until your wedding. I want the 'getting to know each other stage' to begin as soon as possible, the guest house has been prepared for you both, and the maids are ready to welcome you into your new home" Daniel finished.
Tyler kissed Michael on the head, looking onwards as Michael went upstairs to his bedroom. Tyler headed to his room to pack his belongings.
After dinner, the Browns said their farewell to the McDonalds's, and left for home. Franca's parents were displeased at the immediate notice, but they didn't voice it out. They saw Tyler as the perfect suitor for their daughter. They were going to miss her presence in the house. It would have the most effect on her father, because although Franca and her mother were close, Franca was closer to her father.
When they got home, Victoria told Franca to pack her luggage in preparation to go live with Tyler. Franca was absolutely devastated; she had gone through emotional turmoil after Tyler broke off their friendship many years ago. She had been lonely and friendless until Zack, Sarah and Annie became her friends. They helped her through that difficult time. She felt sad at the memory, she had trusted that their friendship would last forever but how naïve could she had been.
The instant her parents told her of her marriage, her world was turned upside down. The perfect future she had planned was now a dream never to come true and it brought a tear to her eyes. Wiping the tear that had involuntary fallen from her eyes, she sighed frustrated at herself. She would have to pull through because not everything in life worked as one planned. It literally killed her to be in the same vicinity as Tyler, but she couldn't blame him.
"Alright, Franca, take everything you need" Victoria said, closing Franca's bedroom door.
Victoria sympathized with her daughter but she knew she could not do anything about it. It was for her good, she thought. Tyler and her daughter had been friends since childhood so she had trust in him to do well, by her daughter. In addition to this, their family had known each other for numerous years, so it settled her mind a bit that her daughter was not getting married to a total stranger.
"Okay mum, I am unto it" Franca replied, shoving all her clothes and valuables into her luggage.
"I am going to miss my parents and my room" Franca sighed, glancing through her room trying to memorize everything. Her bedroom held memories, the memories were bitter sweet. She had lost a childhood friend and gained more in this same room, she grimly thought. Pushing away the pessimism crippling through her mind, she smiled to reassure herself that everything was going to be alright.
Meanwhile in the McDonalds house, Tyler was similarly packing his luggage.
"Can't this wait until tomorrow?" Tyler asked his parents.
"No" they replied simultaneously.
Tyler rapidly got his entire luggage and went to place them in the car outside.
"Let's go to your new house, Franca parents will bring her there" Daniel said. Daniel and Rosie told the maid to check up on Michael. Tyler got in his car, driving behind his parents, to his new home.
"Whoa, this house is awesome mum" Tyler said gratefully, walking towards it. He opened the door and was left speechless when he took a tour around the house.
The house was extravagant. It had a swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and a cinema. It was aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, very magnificent. Tyler's parents had spent mounds of dollars renovating the house to Tyler's taste. They were satisfied with his remark.
They tearfully looked at their son. "We will miss you Tyler, we promise to come visit frequently, treat Franca well" Rosie said pulling Tyler towards her, hugging him.
"Tyler, you are now a man, behave accordingly" Daniel replied hiding his emotions. He was as affected as Rosie; he would truly miss his son.
"Oh come here; give your old man a hug" Daniel said, his emotions getting the most of him. Father and son hugged each other whilst his mother put her hands besides her heart, gazing adoringly at them. She pulled them into a group hug.
Franca's parents arrived at the house watching the scene before them. The scene was an emotional scene. Mark sympathized with them because he was going to miss his daughter as well. Her parents kissed her on her cheeks, and pulled her in for a long group hug as well. They waved goodbye to the McDonalds and got in their car. Tyler's parents did the same and left for their house.
"So, it's you and I now" Tyler said smirking at Franca.
