My eyes widened as a thick, metallic fluid traveled down my throat. I wanted to be upset with him, but in this moment, my mind froze. My instinct was to melt into the kiss, but I withheld from doing so in fear of losing myself.Everything was so hot; my skin burned and ached for his touch. As if on cue, his hand reached up and softly cupped my cheek. I could feel the heat from his palm on my flushed skin.
A normal kiss didn't feel like this.
Eventually he pulled away, breaking the trance. My caramel, side swept bangs were now messily scattered across my forehead and my lips were stained crimson.
His face hovered over mine, our noses practically touching— the scent of cinnamon and burning wood filled my lungs. I noticed how Elijah's eyes now held a deep chocolate color; tints of gold flecks spotted his iris.
"How do you feel?" He questioned. His breath was warm; my nose picked up slight traces of mint.
Speaking, on my part, was difficult. "Wh-What?" My shaky voice mumbled. I could barely focus, let alone answer a question. How did I feel? Hot, confused, tantalized, lustful— and the list went on.
"Your wounds— do they still hurt?" Elijah repeated after inching his face father away from mine. Standing up straight, the Alpha Wolf looked down upon me with darkened eyes.
"Oh."
I was experiencing many confusing emotions, but pain wasn't one of them. Confused, my hand wondered over to feel my torso. The aching had vanished, leaving nothing but tender skin encased by a cast.
I lifted a hand to my mouth. My fingers gingerly brushed my lips, feeling the warmth that lingered upon them.
Frowning, I asked, "What did you do?"
"I healed you." He shrugged as if it was a normal gesture; Elijah didn't seemed fazed.
"Healed me?" I repeated his remark in a puzzled tone.
"Yes, wolf-born blood can act as a cure for many ailments— broken bones included." He licked his lips, ridding them of the red coloration. "You're still going to be sore, but my blood will take care of everything else."
"S-So you're saying I can go home now?" I spoke as if it was a joke, but there was some truth to my sentiment. A part of me wanted time alone to regroup after what had just happened; the sporadic thumping in my chest refused to calm.
Ignoring my last comment, Elijah rolled his eyes and offered me his hand. It was the same arm he had bitten, but I noticed that no wound remained.
No words were exchanged; my hazel eyes cautiously focused on his outstretched palm.
Hesitantly, I put my hand in his— again, the warmth from his body seeped into my skin. He gently stood me on my feet before letting go of my hand completely. Almost immediately, I lost my balance and stumbled forward, only to be met by his chest.
"S-Sorry," I whimpered apologetically as my blush deepened. "My ankle—"
I was cut off by an amused chuckle vibrating within his chest. I could practically feel a smirk forming on his lips.
Despite his suit acting as a barrier between my hands and his torso, I could feel the outline of his sculpted muscles underneath the expensive fabric. His heartbeat was also thumping prominently, like a melody my ears couldn't get enough of. It was all way too much to handle.
"First things first, let's get you out of that cast," he spoke calmly as his arms snaked around my body. A trail of heat followed his hands; once they reached the cast, his fingers wrapped themselves around the hardened material and snapped it clean off.
