Chapter 7 - Sleep

"I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?" Ernest Hemingway.

"So, what made you leave Daegu?" Jungkook asked fascinated at the young man sprawled out before him. However, his question made the omega suddenly stiff and quiet. Jungkook's eyes widened in fear.

The two had just been chatting and joking next to one another on the sofa for some time now, both on opposite ends facing each other, their long legs tangled together, sleepiness and warmth creating a bubble around the pair. The intimate atmosphere making their tongues lose and their laughs free.

Taehyung was increasing enthralling to the alpha before him. In fact, said alpha was having a hard time tearing his eyes away from the boy. He noticed everything about Taehyung. The way he had a little habit of scrunching his whole face when he wasn't sure about saying something, or the way he covered his mouth when he laughed, eyes crinkling up adorably. He even, much to Jungkook's anguish, noticed the way Taehyung would let his tongue out to lick his lips before jutting it quickly back in his mouth. It was one of the most distracting things Jungkook had ever experienced, and he once had to sit an exam with building works. Taehyung, however, seemed to feel no anguish the alpha was feeling, opening up to Jungkook more and more, and he was in the middle of recounting a story of how he and Yoongi had narrowly avoided police in Daegu when Jungkook had gone and asked him a question that had made him freeze up again. Nice one Jungkook. He mentally berated himself. He took a breath to apologise to the young omega when Tae held his hands out to stop his words.

"Don't" He ordered Jungkook and the youngster just looked at him confused.

"Don't do that. Say sorry, I mean. I knew you were about to apologise, but I don't want you to. It's a simple question" Taehyung looked at him torn, still not answering Jungkook fully, but the alpha simply nodded. He understood that sometimes things were impossible to talk about for some people. He was simply happy that his question hadn't put Taehyung off completely.

"I left Busan to get a better life" He explained simply. The alpha waited to see if there was more Taehyung would tell, however his explanation seemed finished. Jungkook smiled at him satisfied. He knew not to push it further.

He decided to question down another route. He tilted his head to the side a little in interest leaning forward, a habit he had picked up from Jimin. He saw Taehyung gulp deeply.

"Have you found it?" he questioned then, "A better life?" he looked at the omega nervous, he wanted Taehyung to be happy. So much so that he knew it would physically hurt him, if he knew the omega was also hurting.

Tae's eyes widened at the question, obviously not expecting the honest and transparent tone from Jungkook. He felt his cheeks flush slightly and he bit his lip looking away from Jungkook softly.

"I'm getting there" He answered finally. The answer seemed to satisfy the alpha somewhat. And he leant back again more relaxed smiling. Taehyung rolled his eyes, and Jungkook tilted his head again in question.

"What?" he asked. Taehyung just let a little smirk onto his face.

"You're just..." He looked the alpha up and down, making an assessment of him coyly.

"I'm just what?" He asked again. Taehyung relented.

"Your just such an alpha" He finally stated, chuckling a little to himself. Jungkook smiled back at him. Ever since Taehyung had crashed into his world he knew that his instincts were all over the place. It was simply easier to just start going with the wolf inside of him more.

"You're textbook omega as well, just so you know" Jungkook retorted back. Taehyung, if it had been a month ago would have growled at the comment, however now he simply looked at Jungkook expecting an explanation.
