This book takes place after Rising Flames. So this book will release some spoilers about that series. Anyways, welcome to my new book! I hope you will enjoy reading it.

Dark ominous clouds covered the sun, shrouding the jungle with a blanket of darkness. Lightning struck, revealing two small figures, barely a block tall, walking away from the jungle.
"Are you sure leaving her is the only way?" it was a female that spoke, her voice filled with distress.
"Of course," a male responded. "It's... the only way to keep her safe. Remember the plan, Honey."
Honey bowed her head sadly and sighed. "Let's go, Jake. He would be furious if we are late for the meeting."
Jake nodded, his face solemn. Together, they headed towards a castle of darkness, leaving someone close to them behind.
Thunder boomed, as if the sky was condemning them for their act, but they continued, never looking back.
A lone figure, who was watching them, smirked. "This is only the beginning... and both of you will serve me faithfully to revive the dark lord."
A malicious laugh followed the monologue and the figure disappeared into the shadows.

In another place where beautiful fields once flourished, armoured zombies fled in terror. They arrived at a stone castle hidden by trees and went in.
A figure dressed in black was sitting on a throne, waiting with a dangerous impatience. The leader of the zombies approached the figure and bowed, shaking. "My lord... we..."
"Sergeant." The figure got up from their throne, advancing towards the leader of the zombies. "Remember what I told you?"
Sergeant trembled, keeping his head low.
"I said that if you fail... I would annihilate you."
The figure stopped, a block away from the zombie. They took out a bow and fired it at point blank range.
Sergeant let out a cry of pain.
"Unfortunately," the figure continued, "you are still needed. Therefore, I will spare your life. As an added bonus, I will give you a gift."
"T-thank you, my lord," Sergeant managed out, gritting his teeth in pain.
"Now, tell me," the figure said, walking back to their throne. "Who caused your failure to destroy those traitors?"
"It was a human," the zombie replied, his eyes never leaving the cold hard floor. "A human girl. She... possessed an enchanted diamond sword with unspeakable power, and killed many of us."
"I see," they stroked their chin thoughtfully. "I shall investigate this personally myself. Now, leave my sight."
Sergeant stood up shakily and began to leave with the other zombies.
"Sergeant, one more thing."
The leader of the zombies turned to face them, frightened at their deadly calm voice.
"Do not fail me again, or you will burn in the same nether as your former king."
Those words were enough to send fear deep into the non-existent hearts of the zombie, and they hastily left the throne room.
