Stripes met Paddy at her den when morning came. Like her, the dog was confused about the dream they had last night.

"If we are going on a journey, we need tell the others about it," Stripes meowed. "Otherwise, they would be worried."

Paddy nodded. "That's the least of our problems though. The trip to the wheat fields takes at most one day if we walk. It may not be very far, but the journey to it will be difficult." He did not sound optimistic and she understood why.

"Something has been bugging me since the dream," she mewed. "Why do we have to go to the fields? Why are we the only ones who are told to go there?"

Paddy frowned. "Something feels off about this journey, and I don't like it. But as you said, it sounded important, so I will go."

"I'm going to tell Ender and Pancer about it," Stripes meowed. "Maybe Pancer could teach us some herbs to use to treat minor wounds."

"Meanwhile, I can figure out the fastest route we can take," Paddy said. "The faster we go there, the better."

Stripes gave a nod and both of them went their seperate ways. Nervously, she padded over to Ender's den. "Hello?" she called, peering into the den. Empty.

"Looking for me?"

Stripes jumped at the sound of Ender's voice. "Apologies, I didn't mean to scare you," he said.

"It's fine," she mewed. "I came to inform you that Paddy and I are going to the fields."

"Hmm..." Ender humed. "I wish you two luck on the journey. Remember that a shadow always follows."

"A shadow that always follows?" Stripes echoed, bewildered. "Wha-"

That was when she realised that Ender was gone. I'll figure it out later.

Stripes made her way to Pancer's den, hoping to catch the medic dog there. Usually, Pancer would head out in the morning to gather fresh herbs to help out in one of the Kingdom's hospitals.

"Pancer?" she called.

The dog poked her head out of her den. "Stripes!" she smiled. "You look better today."

"I do?" Stripes craned her neck to examine her pelt.

"You look happier," Pancer corrected herself. "Can I do anything for you?"

"Well, Paddy and I are going to the fields today. I'm hoping you could give advice on herbs," Stripes replied.

The medic dog looked thoughtful. "There are many herbs I can teach you about, but it would take a long time, so I'll teach you a few that I think would be useful."

She gestured for Stripes to follow her into her den. When the tuxedo cat went in, she was greeted by a collection of leaves and many pungent scents.

"In the case of a cut, you could try using cobwebs. Make sure you press on it to stop it from bleeding. For sore paws, water can help, but it will sting if there are cuts."

"Anything else I should know?" Stripes asked, trying to put the advice given by Pancer to her memory.

"Don't try to use herbs that you do not know," Pancer said. "You never know which one is poisonous or not."

"Alright. Thanks!" she meowed.

"Good luck on your journey!" Pancer called.

"Ready?" Paddy asked. He seemed rather anxious.

"Yes," Stripes meowed, taking a deep breath.

He turned around and started walking, with Stripes at his paws. She noticed that his pawsteps were quick yet hesitant, as if he was uncomfortable with the thought of visiting his former home.

"I'm nervous too," Stripes mewed. "You never know what we may encounter along the way."

Paddy nodded, his face serious. "I just hope we don't encounter any hostile monsters. Usually, they don't attack us but... Nevermind. Let's just keep walking."

He's recalling what happened that day in the fields.

Stripes did not say anything and continued. It was going to be a long walk, but hopefully at the end of the journey, they would get some answers.

Little did they know that a shadowy figure was following them with a hidden motive.

~~~~
"You called, my lord?" Sergeant bowed to a cloaked figure, who sat on a throne.
The unknown figure took out a glowing blade from their cloak and stood up.
Sergeant shivered, but remained where he was.
"Relax, Sergeant," their voice was deep and smooth. "I am merely presenting you with a priceless gift, to aid you in your mission. I understand why your soldiers crumbled before that human's blade, but this blade I am offering you is more powerful than that blade."
The blade looked like it was made of diamond, but there was a streak of red on it, which glowed in the darkness ominously.
"Take it, and you will become stronger than any zombie in existence."
Sergeant took it. It felt heavy in his hands, and he could feel the unstable surge of power radiating from the blade.
As he slowly moved the blade to test its strength, he suddenly felt hungry for battle. It was like the strength of the blade was screaming at him to destroy anyone in his path.
"Unleash your new power onto our enemies."
An image formed in front of Sergeant, showing a dog and a cat travelling with each other.
"Eliminate them."
Who do you think is the shadowy figure? Are they the same person as the figure in the last few paragraphs?
