"Let's stop here and rest for a while," Paddy suggested as they reached an oak forest. Stripes nodded, sitting down under a tree.

The forest seemed very peaceful, and a gentle, cooling breeze drifted past them. Bright coloured flowers and leaves swayed slowly as Paddy felt the breeze ruffled his fur.

"Nice weather today," he commented.

Stripes nodded. "It smells like rain is coming soon."

"Then we should speed up," Paddy said, glancing at the cloudy sky. "I know a place ahead that we can seek shelter from the rain."

"Okay." They rested there for another five mintues before resuming their journey with a quickened pace.

The sky growled as the clouds darkened, sending the land before into darkness.

As Paddy's eyes slowly got used to the dimming forest, he caught a glimpse of a figure watching them. However, it was too dark for Paddy to recognise that figure.

"Something doesn't feel right," Stripes mewed quietly, looking tense.

"Let's move quickly," Paddy whispered.

As they walked faster, he heard footsteps behind them and it struck fear into his heart. Someone was following them.

They broke into a sprint. The sky flashed with a streak of lightning, revealing the shadow of the figure chasing them.

Thunder boomed once more, accompanied by rain. The path was becoming more slippery, and the darkened sky did not help them as well.

"Look out!" Paddy gasped, pushing Stripes aside as a glowing blade struck the ground where the cat was a second ago.

They stumbled and fell. Paddy shakily got to his paws and nudged Stripes up as well. They started to run, but they realised that they were surrounded by armoured zombies.

"There is no escape for you." The voice sounded familiar, and with horror, Paddy realised whose voice it was.

Lightning flashed once more, revealing a zombie with gleaming diamond armour and a strange looking diamond sword.

"Y-you!" Paddy snarled, his anger taking over his fear. "You were the one who k-kiled Flower!"

"Shame that I didn't get the chance to kill you too," the zombie hissed. "But today, your luck has just ran out. Attack!"

The surrounding zombies launched themselves at Paddy and Stripes. Burning with a newfound desire for revenge, Paddy attacked.

Stripes was cowering in fear, but mustered her courage to fight as well.

Their claws did minimal damage to the armoured zombies and Paddy found himself tiring as he fought desperately to live.

A sword struck his side and he winced, stunned by the sudden pain. Stripes, too was hit, letting out a whimper of pain.

"I wouldn't let you die!" Paddy growled, standing in front of Stripes, remembering how he failed to protect Flower all those months ago.

"How cute," the zombie with the strange diamond sword taunted, advancing towards them. "Now you will die together!"

There was no way that Paddy could defeat such a powerful monster and he braced himself for the worst.

Suddenly, the zombies were knocked away. Stripes gasped in shock while Paddy was speechless.

A figure wearing a black jacket was standing inbetween them and the zombies. They held an enchanted diamond sword.

At the sight of that figure, some of the zombies began to look afraid, and a few even ran. The zombie, that Paddy assumed was the leader, was trembling, but trying to maintain his stance.

The newcomer let out a laugh. "That's right," she smirked. "You should be very afraid."

Who is she? Paddy thought, staring at the sword she was holding. That's... Frost's sword! How...

The world moved in slow motion as she attacked, sending nearby zombies flying with a single swing. Still smirking, she went for the leader and their swords clashed.

"I don't know who you are, but I'm still going to kill you!" the zombie threatened, his sword glowing an ominous red as he attacked again.

"Worry about yourself," she said silkily, dodging the strike without blinking.

As the fight progressed, both of their strikes became faster and faster until Paddy couldn't comprehend what happened.

Within seconds, their saviour had her sword pressed against the zombie's neck. His sword landed far away.

Genuine fear was evident in the zombie's face. "W-who are you?"

"It's too bad I can't kill you," she said with a dramatic sigh. "So, do me a favour and run back to your master with the message that you were utterly defeated and humiliated. Now, scram."

The zombie got to his feet and fled with his other zombies.

Paddy and Stripes were stunned as they looked at their saviour, who had leaf green eyes. She turned to them with a grin.

"Fern, at your service," she introduced herself, bowing as if she had just did a performance.

"T-thank you," Stripes stammered.

"Who are you?" Paddy cut in with a hostile growl. "How did you get that sword? That belonged to our owner, Frost! You have no right to take it!"

Fern merely smirked. "It's mine now. Unless you want to get soaked in this rain, I highly recommend that you seek shelter and keep your questions to yourself." She spoke slowly and almost threateningly.

"She's right," Stripes mewed, shivering from the cold. "Let's find somewhere dry."

"Fine," Paddy growled as they made their way to a sheltered place.

What do you think is Fern's relationship with Frost? Is she a friend or foe?

I personally think Fern's overpowered. ;)
