Naalimpungatan ako sa narinig kong kalabog ng mga paa sa ikalawang palapag ng bahay namin. Humikab ako at tinignan ang orasan sa bedside clock ko. 5:30? Ang aga naman ng mga tao dito nagising.
Napagdesisyunan kong bumaba at do'n ko sila nakitang lahat.
"Mom? Dad? Saan kayo pupunta?" tanong ko nang nakita kong nakabcorporate attire ang mga magulang ko.
Umupo ako sa sofa habang pinagmamasdan ang mga magulang kong tila nagmamadali. Si Kuya naman mukhang malalim ang iniisip.
"Oh sweetie, good you're awake. Well, your father and I-"
"We'll be gone for 3 months because your lolo in Canada is sick and we need to fix our business there." Dad said.
"3 months?!" I asked, shocked.
Bumuntong-hininga si mommy at lumapit sa 'kin sabay halik sa noo ko.
"Yes. I know, I know it'll be hard but... this is an emergency and Papa needs us, sweetie."
"Oh, God." I facepalmed.
Three months is not a joke. School just ended and well... I expected us to go on vacation. But then, this unexpected situation just ruined it all.
"I had everything planned out though. All your cards and bank accounts, papadalhan ko every week. Kayo na bahala ng Kuya mo. If you need help, do contact us." Dad said.
Tumango na lang ako. Atleast, I still have money. Tumingin naman ako kay Kuya and he's still in a deep thought.
"Brent, please be a responsible brother to Lila. Look out for each other." Dad said.
Tumango din si Kuya.
"Yes, Dad."
After 30 minutes, my parents were already packed and ready to go. I admit, I'm gonna miss them especially Mom's dishes and Dad's jokes.
"Don't be a pussy and stop crying."
Kuya seemed to be back in his cocky self and right now, he's showering teases to me.
"Language." Dad said.
Kuya snorted.
"Sorry, Dad." Kuya said then laughed.
"Lila, it's gonna be okay." Mom said and hugged me.
We finally bid our goodbyes and we just watched them leave with their car.
"Oh yes baby, three months of freedom." Kuya exclaimed as we walked back to the house.
Inirapan ko si Kuya.
"Don't you dare bring a girl here." I said.
Kuya smirked.
"Who said I'm gonna bring a girl?"
My eyebrows furrowed. He seemed to have a double meaning sa sinabi niya. Don't tell me he's...
"What the fuck? So it's true that you're gay?!" I exclaimed.
Kuya glared at me.
"It's not gay, okay! It's bi-fucking-sexual." He said.
"Gago ka? Bakla pa rin 'yon!"
"You make it sound like a bad thing." He smirked.
"Of course! My friends like you and then you're gay?!" I said. "Oh my gosh, Kuya. As in oh my gosh talaga!"
Nilapitan ako ni Kuya.
"Hey, hey, it's not that bad. I'm with a guy for three months now and..."
"Oh gosh. Don't spell out the details!"
Kuya laughed.
"No, Lila, we haven't done it yet."
"Oh, so you're planning to?"
Kuya acted as if he's thinking.
"Hmm, maybe. You know, ibang putahe naman. I mean, I love pussies buf I also want to feel a-"
"Stop!" I covered my ears.
Humagalpak na ng tawa si Kuya sa sinabi ko.
"You're gonna love him, Lila. And, uh, can I ask for a favor?"
Sumeryeso na si Kuya so I guess malaking favor itong hihingin niya.
"Well, uh, can he live with us? I mean-"
My jaw dropped.
"What?!" I exclaimed.
"Wait, let me finish!" He said, panicking. "He needs to have a home where he can stay. Please, Lila? I- I really like this guy and he really needs our help." Kuya said, stuttering.
Bumuntong-hininga ako.
"And you don't want me to tell them, right?"
Tumango siya.
"Please Lila, just this once?"
Napaisip ako. Naaawa ako kay Kuya cause he seems to be serious with this guy. I'm still in a state of shock that he's gay, or bisexual or whatever. But, he's my brother and I need to accept him, right?
So I did what I have to do.
Tumango ako.
