The Big Show Case

I was pacing in my bedroom! It was 4:30 am and it was the day if the show! I needed to make sure I had everything. Shoes, costumes, makeup, hairspray, hair bands, grips and more hairspray! I practised for hours, ignoring my roaring stomach! Eventually, I got something to eat and woke up Lily. I thought that she was joking when she made small noises that sounded like she was trying to tell me something. Then I realised! She's lost her voice! What was I gonna do about the song! We both started panicking and to make it worse, just as I started crying in nervousness, someone knocked at the door. Connor walked in with consern on face when he saw the tears running down my face.

"What's wrong Libby?!" He asked.

"Lily has lost her voice and we are singing a duet in the big show case!" I blurted out. He held his arms out and I accepted his offer for a hug. He rubbed my back with simpathy and I buried my head in his neck. This was the perfect moment and I didn't want it to ever end. He looked at me and said...

" Why don't you sing it on your own?!" he said.

"I guess I have to! That's what I'm worried about! Up there on my own infront of everyone!" I answered with a tight throut.

"Listed to me! Ive heard you sing! Your amazing! Go up there and sing your little heart out later!" he said. Then he did something I thought he wouldn't ever do.... He kissed me! I knew I shouldn't have but I couldn't help kiss him back! What was I doing! "Tell ya what! I will be in the wings whilst you sing so you know that your number one fan is defiantly there!" he said as he let go of my lips. I didn't answer him but he took my grin as a yes and the next thing I knew he was kissing me again! " I better go but I will see you later!" he said before kissing my forehead and walking out the door.

A few hours later, me and Lily made our way to the auditorium. We made our way to Miss Watt first and told her about Lily's voice.

"Libby you will have to sing as a solo then because there is no one else that knows the song!" She said to me. Me and Lily both nodded in agreement and I went off to rehearse. I got up on the stage and looked at how many chairs there were. "Ok Libby! From the top!" I heard a voice say. I put my thumb up and the music started. I saw Connor and Ellis sit right at the front, both grinning!

I sang my little heart out just as Connor said and it looked like it had payed off! Everyone in the auditorium was on there feet! Including Madam York, the headmistress of the academy! And this was just the rehearsal!

Madam York explained that at the end of the show, awards would be given to people that had been nominated by there teachers.

She rest of the rehearsal ran smoothly. I sat with Connor, Lily and Ellis and watched the rest of the show. We cheered for one and other when we did a dance and had a really good time!

Half an hour before the show, there was a knock at my dressing room door.

"Come in!" I called, expecting it to be Connor or Ellis. Suddenly, Luke's head appeared around the door.
