I has been 4 days since Jo died. Today was the day of the funeral. I had just gotten out of the shower and was eating my breakfast in my robe.
Luke came downstairs. He was in a black suit with his black lip ring to match. I finished my breakfast and went upstairs to get dressed.
I wore a simple black strapless dress with a pair of black heels. I gave myself quite full eyes using eyeliner and mascara (both waterproof). Then finishing with a red lipstick. I slipped on my Pandora bracelet and my love heart necklace before straiteneing my hair. I decided to pull my hair into a pony tail wrapping a small piece of hair around the bobble to hide it. I took one last look before walking out of my room. As I walked down the hall, I couldn't help but take one last look in Jo's bedroom. It looked exactly the same as it did last week but alot colder as only
my mum had been in here once. I walked in further. I could smell her Christina Agulara perfume that she wore every day. Her pyjamas were still folded on her perfectly made bed and her phone was still laying on her bedside table.
"Hey Libby. The car is here." Dani told me from the door.
"Err.. right let's get going then."I replied biting my lip to stop myself from crying.
"Come here Libs! It's alright! We can get through it!" She said hugging me tightly.
"We better go." I sighed pulling away. We both took one last look at the room before closing the door and walking hand in hand down stairs.
"Me, Libby, Dani and Luke will go in the main car then you guys go in the second car that will travel behind us." My mum announced.
"The main car as in the... You know..." I stuttered.
"No we won't be in the car with the coffin, we will be in the car behind her." She told me. I hate the fact she said 'the coffin'.
Luke linked his arm with mine whilst I grabbed my clutch. We left the house and got in the cars. I could see the Hearse infront of us. The coffin was laid in the back of it and I could picture her body laying there, lifeless. I got in the black car and waited for the painful drive ahead.
The whole car ride was silent. Nobody knew what to say. I was sat in the middle so had the awful view of he hearse. I decided to put my head on Luke's shoulder so the head rest blocked my view.
After about 20 minutes of sitting in the car, we had stopped at the cemetery and one by one we got out of the car. We walked in once the other car had arrived. There weren't many people there. Only close family and friends to Jo.
The ceremony started and the 4 boys agreed to carry the coffin down the aisle. A big picture of Jo, me and Dani smiling to the camera was at one end of the big table. It was her favourite picture.
"And now we have speeches from Joanne's mother and two sisters." The man at the front announced. Luke kissed me on the cheek before I stood up taking my mum's and Dani's hands.
My mother went first. She stepped up to the microphone as Dani and I took either one of her hands.
"I can't believe that my baby girl has gone. Just a week ago, she was sat on the sofa with her sisters, Libby's friends and I watching TV and laughing. It feels like a third of my heart has been pulled out from me. I know that she will be watching over us. I know that she will be waiting for us but I also know that she would hate for us to dwell on her departure. None of this was her fault and the cruel person who did this will pay! I guess for now though, this is goodbye my angel." She croaked as she had been crying. She turned around and kissed her hand then placed it on the top of the coffin where her head would be.
