I woke up early the next morning, eager to see Ross. I pulled out a soft pink tank top and some jean shorts, I wanted to look nice, but not like I was trying too hard. As I got ready I kept replaying our time in my room over and over in my head: the constant giggling, goofy smiles, deep stares into each other's eyes...it was all too perfect. And the way he called me the coolest girl ever and grabbed my hand at the end of the day just made my stomach jolt with electricity.
I have never felt this way before, especially with guy I hardly know. His blonde hair and tall, strong frame just made me feel like putty in his hands.
The doorbell rang, quickly snapping me back into reality, and as I ran down to answer it, I came face to face with my two older brothers, who were also my two best friends. Joey, the oldest, was 24 and Kenny was 22. We grew up in such a tight knit family that I was beyond happy they decided to move down and continue living with us. Luckily they got into schools for master's programs right here in LA, so that we could all remain a family. I hugged both of them and helped them unpack.
After we got their rooms all set up and had lunch, it was about 2 PM, time to see Ross and meet the rest of his family. About 10 minutes later our doorbell rang, and as I opened it I met the eyes of Rydel, Riker, Rocky, and new boy that I later learned was named Ryland, two people who I presumed where their parents, and most importantly, Ross. After I was introduced to Ryland and greeted the other four, I put out my hand to shake Ross's dad. "Please call me Mark." He said as he greeted me warmly. "And I'm Stormie Lynch!! Give me a hug!!!" His mom practically grabbed me and pulled me close, she was so sweet and loving.
After I introduced them to my family, we made plans to have a family dinner together. There were going to about 12 of us altogether, so we divided the meals as so: my mom would make the salad, Ross's dad and my dad would grill burgers and hot dogs at the Lynch household, and Ryland, Riker, Joey, Kenny, and Rocky were in charge of setting up the tables and chairs outside at the Lynch's. Rydel and Stormie were in charge of dessert, which left Ross and I to go to the supermarket and buy rolls and other necessities.
Ross offered to drive since I didn't know where I was going, and we got in the car and traveled to the nearest supermarket. While in the car we blasted the radio with the current pop hits, screaming the lyrics at the top of our lungs, laughing and enjoying the open road. He was actually a great driver, and I was really impressed. As we came to a stop sign, my favorite song came on the radio, and I jumped out of my seat and began slapping his arm frantically.
He looked over at me began laughing as he said "What's wrong?!"
"THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG AND THE LYRICS ARE SO EMOTIONAL AND I LOVE IT!!" I screamed as I began singing along at the top of my lungs.
He stared at me for a few seconds, laughed, and joined in on the fun. I felt so free and comfortable around him. I usually never song out loud around anyone, but he just brought the fun out in me. He wasn't a bad singer either, he was actually really good. As the song ended we pulled up to the supermarket and got out of the car.
Ross grabbed a cart and we began to look down the isles and check of the items on the list Stormie had given us. I was actually pretty shocked my parents let me ride with Ross alone, they normally would never let me do something like that, but I'm sure glad they did. We began to grab dinner rolls, two cans of baked beans, and fresh lettuce for the salad. Ross would drive the cart while I picked out the items, and he made sure to make this trip entertaining. First he grabbed a bag of chips and threw them to me, next he would weave in and out of isles. We were totally causing trouble, something I don't normally tolerate, but it was just so much fun. I was laughing uncontrollably and it wasn't like we were doing anything bad, so I just went along with it.
We checked everything off of our list and as I pointed to the check out lane, Ross turned and sprinted with the cart to another isle. As I caught up with him, I realized we were in the snack food isle, and I found Ross and the cart right next to the selection of Goldfish.
"I thought maybe we could have these for dinner too, it's like our own inside joke." He said as he grabbed a box of the colored kind and put it into the cart.
He remembered I liked the colored kind, and now we have an inside joke. I just about fainted at how considerate he was. He smiled at me and we went to check out. I was impressed with how sweet Ross was to the old lady that rang us up, he was so cordial and kind to her even though she was taking a long time to ring us up. After we paid and left, we loaded the groceries into the car. We got into the front two seats and I just turned and smiled at him.
His eyes met mine and a small, yet nervous smile grew on his face as he asked "What?"
"It was just so sweet how nice you were to the cashier back there." I responded.
He started the car and replied "I've known her since we started coming here, she's so nice to my brothers and I and has always loved my dad."
We laughed and started on our way home. As we pulled out of the parking lot a new song came on the radio and I felt Ross slap my arm as he screamed, "Now THIS is my favorite song!!! Wohoooo!!!"
He began to sang along as I did too, laughing and just living in the moment. I couldn't get enough of Ross Lynch.
