A fresh start. Normally any teenager would have acted like moving 6 hours away from their friends, high school, and lifetime of memories was equivalent to the apocalypse. But that's not how I felt. I was moving back to my hometown, my envision of the perfect fantasy, and I was beyond excited. After saying our goodbyes, my parents and I hopped into our car and drove to our new destination of living: Los Angeles, California.
As we pulled into the driveway of our new house, I jumped out of the car, eager to start unpacking. Across the street I saw a family around my age playing Frisbee in their front yard. They stopped, smiled, and waved at me as I opened the trunk of our car. About a minute later I heard footsteps behind me, and as I turned around I came face to face with 4 members of my new neighbors.
"Hi," the first one greeted me, "I'm Riker, welcome to the neighborhood!" He was tall, blonde, and looked to be around 21.
"Hey, my name's Rose!" I stated as I looked at each of them.
A blonde girl a few years older than myself reached out and gave me a huge hug.
"I'm Rydel, but you can call me Delly!"
I laughed as she let go, "Thanks Delly, nice to meet you!"
A tall, brunette with longer hair held out his hand for me to shake as he said"I'm Rocky!" I shook his hand and returned the greeting.
The last boy, who was blonde, tall, and extremely cute held out his hand and said "I'm Ross."
His chocolate brown eyes were absolutely mesmerizing, and I felt this fluttering sensation in my hand as he shook it.
"It's so nice to meet all of you, thank you for coming over here," I said as I introduced them to my parents.
"My two older brothers are driving down in two days, so you can meet them when they get here!" I exclaimed.
Do you need any help moving boxes?" Riker asked.
I agreed thankfully and just as I was about to grab a container, I saw another pair of hands reach and take it.
"I got it," Ross said with a nervous smile, "where to?"
I took him to the room that would transform into my bedroom. I thanked him and as soon as all the boxes were in my house, the family said goodbye and we parted ways. They promised to come by the following day to help unpack. It was getting late and after a long day of getting the necessities set up in my new home, I fell asleep on my bed, and the only thing consuming my mind was our new neighbors, particularly Ross.
