A little nonsense now and then is cherished by the wisest men

- Roald Dhal

Nate 's eyes fluttered open, his small mate was tucked underneath his arm, he sighed in content. He had been waiting for this day his whole life.

This feeling was foreign to him, he had never felt this close to another person before. Nate felt the need to protect her, love her and be everything that she needed. He had imprinted on someone else but it never felt as good as this.

Laila unconsciously rubbed her face into his neck trying to get as much of her scent on her mate as possible. Laila must have teleported into his guestroom last night.

She was beautiful, more beautiful than he could have ever imagined. She had brown skin and brown fox shaped eyes but if you looked closely you'd notice the little specks of green. She had soft skin and an amazing smile. The few facial scars that she had didn't bother him. She was his and he was hers. As long as she would allow it.

He could hear her heartbeat start to increase, he knew it wouldn't be long until she woke, he waited a few minutes while she stirred in his chest.

 "Nate"

"Yes, Laila," he groaned. His gruff voice sent shivers to her core, he could smell her sweetness in the air but he said nothing. he didn't want to embarrass her.

"I'm sorry" she mumbled into his neck.

The lack of control she had over her abilities was embarrassing, unconsciously she teleported to her mate and she didn't know why. Her abilities have always had a mind of their own but they have never been this bad.

"You don't have to apologise," he said stroking her back, "I can teach you how to gain more of a control over them,"

"Laila?"

"Nathaniel"

Nate couldn't control himself. The was how she said his name had his member growing in his pants. He sat up with a grunt slightly pushing away from her, "I should be saying sorry."

Nate cocked his head in deep thought, "It's your wolf that's the problem and not you. She is acting out that's why you keep appearing next to me." Laila nodded in response. "You, need to get your animalistic side under control. Let me talk to her, she might listen to me."

Nathaniel's eyes turned gold, he reached to touch his mate's face, "come," he said softly. Laila lay her head back and her body sunk into the soft sheets. Her eyes closed as her mate hovered over her concerned. Nate whimpered, had he killed his mate before he got the chance to know her?

Suddenly her eyes flew open.

"Hello Sekuthu," Laila's orbs flash blue, "I have been waiting for you for a long time, you didn't come and find us. I've been calling for you."
