"O teach me how I should forget to think"
― William Shakespeare,

"Hey Baby, how was your training session," Spencer walked into his small apartment, he knew he would find his small mate here.

The blonde pushed a hand through his hair, he was covered in sweat and the husky smell of other power males.

"It was okay," she said looking towards her plate of food she had barely touched it, "Your plate is in the fridge. How was your day with your dad?"

"It was good, he asked about you. He's worried Laila, so are your parents," he said sitting next to her around his dining table.

"You've spoken to my parents, what are they worried about?" she said slightly concerned, she felt like she was being ambushed. Maybe everyone should share their concerns with her since they love talking about her so much.

"Laila is wasn't like that, I spoke with your mom. She's worried about the upcoming bonding ceremony. Your abilities are getting more and more out of control."

Laila knew this conversation was coming, her wolf had tried to overpower Spencer and she knew just how much he hated that.

A single tear ran down Laila's cheek, "Spencer I know. I've been trying but the more I try to control them the more I can't. We're the oldest unmated couple in the pack, and you're the Alpha heir. I'm trying Spencer."

"We can train tomorrow, together. You can try harder."

"I'm trying as hard as I can, I just need you to have some faith in me," dropped her fork onto her plate, "It's hard enough being an embarrassment,"

"I know you can try harder Laila."

The dining table glided across the room until it hit the back wall.

Laila stood as she tried to get away from him. He knew the subject would cause an argument but it needed to be said.

Her anger was getting out of control.

"Try harder?" she shouted, her temper getting the better of her. The lights in the apartment flashed, as more tears streamed down her face.

"Laila I'm not sure if we can keep doing this we're running out of options, my Dad is not getting any younger, I have to take over soon. The pack needs a new Alpha and Luna."

"Spence, I'm trying," she pleaded as she dragged her hand down her face, "Spencer help me, I can't control her"

The Alpha heir stepped forward, he reached forward to touch his mate but he wasn't expecting the pain that shot all across his body creating more space between them. This only angered his inner beast.

Now he wanted her angry, she needed to submit.

He was trying to get her angry, he wanted to see how strong she is maybe if he got her angry she would eventually wear herself out and she would be ready for the ceremony. She wasn't trying hard enough.
