Kate ran, ran, and ran till she made it to the dragon kingdom and got the castle then ran into her brothers arms crying, Derek didn't noticed kate till her hands were rapped around him crying into his chest, so he Bended down to her level "kate what's wrong where's dad",he asked, "dads gone he died and I'm the reason why",she said, then Derek hugged her tightly, "sis it's not your fault he died saving you, as long as your safe",he said hugging her still, while she cried till she could cry no more
A while later kate had finally calmed down with her brothers help "are you better kate",he asked, "I'm done crying but am still am sad",she said, "I know kate we both are gonna be sad for a long time but do you wanna live here or go home to our home",he asked, "I know it's gonna take time and go back to our home please brother",she said, he nodded then he transformed into a beautiful dark brown like chocolate dragon that made kate amazed then she hopped on Derek and they flew to their house
While that happened at the hospital "sir their dad is dead they are just living by themselves",unknown said, "good get me the papers then I'll be out tomorrow and get them",unknown said, then one of the men left and grabbed his boss some papers to sign
At Kate and Derek's house, they landed next to the house then Derek transformed back into himself "wow Derek I didn't know you had a dragon",Kate said, "I do I just like to show frizz that much",he said, "ok",she said, then they went inside where kate ran to her fathers room and cried herself to sleep while her brother did somethings around the house and things to make kate feel happy when she woke up
At the hospital he signed some papers then got released from the hospital "drive to this address",he said, the driver nodded then drove to kate and Derek's house
Kate woke up after a long peaceful sleep she went to the kitchen and saw some grilled cheese on the table with some drawings and a sketch book with pens "you remember what I like",she asked, "of corse I thought your favorite food and favorite thing to do would help you cheer up sis if that's ok",he said, then she got up and hugged her brother "thanks brother this will help me I love you and it",she said, "of corse Kate take as much time as you need to cheer up",he said, she nodded then went sit down but before she could sit down she heard the doorbell ring, so she went to get it, when she answered the door it was him, so she shut the door and locked it "kate who was at the door",Derek said, "you don't wanna know",she said scared
A couple minutes before he arrived at kate and Derek's house then he got out of the car payed the man and went to the front door and rang the doorbell then the door opened up and Kate was at the door but then she saw him and shut the door and locked it
"Come on stand aside kate let me look at who it is",Derek said, "no he's here take us away",Kate said scared, but then Derek shoved Kate out of the way and looked through the peephole and saw him "kate go to your room, lock the door, and hid in your closet or bed and I'll come for you after",he said, she nodded and did as her brother told her to, then Derek unlocked the door and opened it "what do you want simon!",Derek yelled, "calm down I've just come for you and Kate",Simon said, "why",Derek said, "cause I saw in the paper Chris died so I adopted you two",Simon said, "what no",Derek said, "yes now go grab kate and will go somewhere together as a family",Simon said, but then Derek grabbed the papers he closed the door and locked it then he destroyed the papers with his dragon fire, then he went to Kate's room and grabbed her "come on kate we're leaving to find a new home far away from him",Derek said,"ok",Kate said, then they snuck out the back door with some clothes, money, food and water, and some stuff to protect them from magic spells than they left in search of a new home
While that happened Simon banged on the door to be let in but then he just knocked down the door and started to look for Derek and Kate but couldn't find them, so then he left the house in search of his kids
Derek and Kate were on the road till Derek stopped them "what's wrong brother",Kate asked, "well where do you want our new house at here or in the dragon kingdom",Derek said, "here it makes me feel safer",she said, then he nodded and they continued their walk/hike to their new home well till it was getting dark so they layed down on the ground and set up camp "I wish dad was here",she said, "I know me too but now we have each other and I brought something of dads to help you sleep",he said, "really what",she asked supposed, then he brought the blanket out and handed it to Kate "it will keep you warm and smells of dad",he said, then Kate hugged her brother "thanks brother I love it",she said, then she layed down and put the blanket over her and was sound asleep, so then Derek blew the fire out and snuggled in with Kate
Durning the night while Kate and Derek were sleeping someone saw them picked them up quietly and brought them inside their house and waited for them to wake up in the morning
In the morning Kate and Derek woke up but didn't know where, so they got up and went out of the room they were in and came into the main room where they saw a women "ah your awake",she said, "who are you and where are we",Derek and Kate asked, "I am Wendy and this is my home and I brought you in last night from the cold",Wendy said, "oh thank you ma'am but we must get going",derek said, "oh please stay aren't you hungry",Wendy asked, "no thanks we have food goodbye",Kate said, then they grabbed their things and left to find a new home, the perfect home where they would be safe for a long time
