Chapter 4

Laineys pov:

It's the second day of school and I'm in science and it's really boring but the good thing is that I have Madi in my class the bad thing is that we sit on the opposite sides of the room and we can't talk.

I've only had one class so far with Ethan and that's B5 Chemistry but he didn't talk to me or acknowledge me at all. I saw him in the morning when I was at the bus stop because yea I can't drive and I don't have a car. Anyway, he was walking outside of his house to his car. Which I have to admit it's a really nice car, it's not expensive but not cheep. It's a black Lexus if any of you wanted to know.

Any any ways. I also saw him in the halls this morning but their were too many people and I'm short so I don't think he saw me in that see of people.

But it doesn't bother me if he doesn't notice me or talk to me and I mean we're not even friends we're just neighbors. On the other hand I also really don't want him to talk or notice me. I don't want any attention coming towards me and mostley from the popular kids, so lets just leave it like this the whole year unnoticed and no drama what's so ever. Just a low profile like the lowest in the world of schools, actually scratch that the lowest profile in the univers, that is until college that's when I do want to be noticed so that I can get into a good college and have a good career and if I have a good career then I'll have a good job and if I have a good job then I'll have a good home and if I have a good home then I'll be happy.

Yup that's what I want.

It's funny how one moment you feel invisible and the next you feel like theirs people watching you and that's how I feel right now like people are watching me. When I look up at the teacher I realize that he's expecting someone to answer a question and when I look around the class I realize that they are all looking at...me

Ooops I must have zoneout when the teacher asked me a question and I don't pay attention. Their is also way too much attention on me and this is not good.

"Earth to miss. Knight." I hear the teacher snapping me out of my daydream.

"Huh sorry I wasn't paying attention can you repeat the question?" I ask as I hear some giggles.

"I asked of you knew what...nevermind just pay attention to class."

"Yeah sorry." I say and he goes back to teaching the lesson.

I look over to Madi and she has a concerned look on her face and sent her a confused look. She opened her mouth to say something but for a second she didn't say anything, then she mouthed 'are you okay?' I just smiled, nodded my head and looked back up to the board.

When the bell rings I pack up all my things and walk out the door with Madi to go to lunch and I haven't told Madi that I live next to Ethan Martin. She's probably going to freak out when I tell her or she won't you know because we don't talk to the popular kids. Most likely she will because it's 'The Ethan Martin' the most popular hottest guy in the whole school.

Huh now that I think about it I wonder where 'The' came from in 'The Ethan Martin'. Why does he have 'The" infront of his name?

Moving on.

I really just want to keep a low profile here and I don't want any attention whatsoever.

We enter the cafeteria and sit far from everyone else so that nobody hears our conversation.
