[Draco and Hermione] Catch Me When I Fall

Chapter 2

She burst into her apartment and slammed the door shut, dropping her things on the side cupboard and sobbed as she made her way to the bedroom. She wiped her tears with her hands and smeared mascara onto her hands as she opened the closet and pulled a large bag from the bottom as it dropped on the floor in front of her.

She began pulling clothes off hangers and throwing them into the bag, next she moved over to the bedside drawers and pulled hem opening, grabbing lingerie and underwear as well as socks with both hands and tossing them in the bag.

She then went into he bathroom and grabbed her toothbrush and hair brush and her makeup just as her foundation fell to the floor and smashed.

'Dammit!' She sobbed as she dropped on her knees and continued sobbing in her hands.

She sniffed and got to her feet just as there was a knock at the door. She put her bathroom stuff in a travel bag and headed to the front door and pulled it open.

There he stood looking at her. His white blonde hair wasn't slicked back like she was used to seeing and he was taller.

'What... how did you find me?' She sniffed as she turned and walked back toward the bedroom, not even wanting to fight with Draco right now.

'Well you took off so quickly that I wanted to make sure you were okay,' Draco followed Hermione inside as she grabbed her travel bag and shoved it into her tuffle and zipped it up.

'But I now see your not okay... fight with Weasel boy?' He asked as Hermione glared at him through a tear stained face.

'If you really must know Malfoy!' She wiped her eyes and threw the tuffle bag over her shoulder.

'Ron broke up with me so now I'm leaving before he gets home!' She went to walk out of the room but Draco was standing in her way.

'Malfoy I don't have the energy to fight with you right now, can you please move out of my way!'

She looked up at Draco who was looking at her, looking confused and worried. 'Malfoy!' She whispered as she dropped her head on his chest and closed her eyes as more tears threatened to spill.

He lifted her head up with his hand under her chin so she was looking at him. 'Where are you going to go Granger?'

'I don't know,' Hermione wailed as the tears spilled down her cheeks again and she shook her head. 'I'll go to a hotel or something I suppose,'

'Hermione Granger, war hero staying in a hotel,' Draco shook his head and took the tuffle bag from her shoulder.

'You can stay at my place but I don't want Potter or little Weasley coming by. And don't think this is me trying to seduce you or... have pity on you,' he said as he turned and began to exit the apartment before turning to look back at Hermione who was just standing there staring at him.

'Are you coming Granger? Or do you want to wait around for Weasley to get back because... I sure don't!'

'Why- why are you helping me Malfoy? We don't even like each other...' Hermione followed Draco to the front door and grabbed her purse and keys before slipping the front door key off and sitting it on the side table.

Draco sighed, rubbing his temple with his free hand as he stopped outside the front door and waited for Hermione who locked the door and closed it behind her.

'I don't like seeing a woman upset and... I'm not exactly comfortable with crying and... stuff!' Draco replied with a frown as he pulled a handkerchief from his jacket pocket and handed it to Hermione.
