Chapter 26

The next couple of days had gone by in a blur for Hermione. Draco had refused to leave her side and for that she was thankful.

Ginny had gone and bought some clothes for her as St Mungo's wanted to keep her in for a couple of days to make sure she had no other injuries that could have been life threatening.

She hadn't spoken much since being admitted, and had spent quite a lot of time crying over the loss of hers and Draco's tiny little baby.

Every chance Draco got, he was lying beside her, holding her as she cried and wept. Each time she would cry herself to sleep in his arms, hoping she would wake up and still be there.

Harry had come and visited sometime in the last couple of days to inform her and Draco that Lavender had been arrested and charged and funny enough... Ron had been the one who had reported her to the Ministry about what she had done.

Harry had also told both Draco and Hermione that she would be on trial with Ron, as he was hoping to turn them against each other and see if Ron actually had anything to do with what Lavender had done.

It was the last day of October and as Hermione dressed herself and got ready to go home she couldn't help but wonder what would have happened had she never ran into Draco that night Ron had broken up with her, where would she have ended up.

She pulled her green silk top over her arms and head as it fell gently over her stomach. She rested both hands on her stomach for a moment whilst looking down and once again felt the tears stinging her eyes before she shook her head and took her hands off her belly.

She grabbed her black jeans and pulled them on, tucking her top into her jeans before doing up the four buttons.

She tied her hair back into a low ponytail, leaving some hair out either side before she sat on the edge of the bed and slipping her nude heels on her feet.
