Is a good thing they knew where they were going, this place had so many corridors, I would of gotten lost, within moments we had reach the place where the screams were coming from, the ensemble were all gathered on the stage, the ballet girls were all scrunched together like sardines, but they continued running up to the stage, jack helped me up on to the main stage whilst the Doctor ran over to the conductor to find out what happened, whilst Jack was looking around the stage, Carlotta was stomping about moaning and raging in French, which I couldn’t figure out, but she was as red as her dress, but I however went over to speak to Christina and Meg, both of them looked shocked, especially more when I came over to them,
'What happened? , are you guys okay? , what was all the screaming? ' They both looked at each other, then Christina looked to me,
'It was him, the Phantom of the Opera, he was here' she looked scared, but also curious, obviously there was enough room for her to still go with him instead of Rhaoul, the way it should be, cause if this turns out like it does in Love never dies, I'll be doing her a favour like saving her life and all the misery,
'I have had enough of all this, does nobody care! ' Carlotta was off again, I ignored as I went behind the stage, trying to look for clues, and not to be caught, it was dimly lit but it was just enough for me to look around, I crept around quietly in case anyone tried to sneak up on me, like the creepy pervert up on the railings, oddly enough, I managed to find my bag by the back curtain, I was happy to see it again, I quickly rummaged through to make sure all my stuff was there, I was about to go back out front went I felt something odd in my bag, I reached in a pulled it out, I was confused until I pulled it out and looked at it in the light, it was a black rose, the same he gives to Christina, but why is there one in my bag,
I was about to go back on stage when all of a sudden it all went deathly quiet, I wasn’t about to waste any time for someone to grab me, but before I even moved, a hand hooked round my waist and pulled me back into a hard chest, I opened my mouth to cry out but a hand clamped over it, I struggled hard against the person, but his grip was that of a rock, it was him, it had to be, but why was he after me, surely he must of mistaken me for Christine, but that didn’t mean he was going to get away with me, with one hand I went to pinch his arm, and then with all my might, I kicked him hard in his shins, he doubled over in pain and I managed to break free of his grip, I stepped back to see who grabbed me, he quickly straightened up and looked at me, his white mask was bright even in the dim light, I was almost mesmerised by his eyes, but at the same time I was still scared of him, he went to move towards me but I bolted towards the stage, hopefully he wouldn’t follow where everyone would see him, I came out onto the stage and wait straight into the Doctor, I wanted to keep running but he kept hold of me,
'Woah hold on what is it, what's wrong' I was almost clinging on to him, Jack, Madame Giry and the managers were now at his side, I was shaking from the encounter and struggled to get my words,
'Him, it was him, in the back' he let go and quickly ran backstage, the rest followed except for Jack, he stayed with me, his hand came to rest on my back, it felt uneasy but reassuring,
'You okay, did he hurt you? ' The shock of the reality hadn’t hit me yet, there was no mistake that it was him,
'Yeah, I'm fine' he nodded then went to join the rest backstage, the thought of being left alone at the moment did not sit well with me, I grabbed his arm before he ran off,
'No wait! , please, I don’t think I can fight him off again on my own' the Phantom wouldn’t make the same move twice, he would surely get me next time, but for now I needed that extra person to put him off, I was then surprised to what he did next, for a moment he held me like a father holds his daughter, I felt okay for that moment, the Doctor then emerged from backstage with the others in tow, I noticed Madam Giry hide the black rose out of view, I wonder if the Doctor had noticed it, let alone what it meant, whilst everyone was chatting away, I noticed that Christine and Meg were now onstage, both looking confused, but I was the one who was most confused, none of this made any sense, not right now, I was a little concerned that I hadn’t seen Raoul yet, but then again I might of just missed him in all this chaos, but it wouldn’t explain the phantoms behaviour, they came over to me during the chat,
'What's going on?, what happened? ' I thought about it for a moment, thinking about how honest I should be, I knew what reaction I was going to get,
'It was him, the opera ghost' they both looked startled and then looked to each other, then back to me,
'Did you see him? , did you see the ghost? ' I was 100% certain it was him, it could have easily been a stage hand, who just happen to own half a white mask,
'No I came with them, I heard someone mention a ghost, but I don’t know what else' just then the Doctor came over to me, he moved me out of the way, we looked at each other as he half whispered something to me,
'You alright? ' I felt a little bit like a third wheel, and also like a prisoner, but he looked genuinely looked concerned about me,
'Yeah I’m fine, nothing I can't handle' that wasn’t very convincing, and he knew it,
'That’s good, anyway, who do you think that rose was for? , it was left by your bag but you never know, odder things have been left as romantic gesture’s, funny shaped rocks, food, poems' the hell is with this guy, it's like when you get a boyfriend and your parents want to know every single detail, like a rabbit caught in a pair of headlights, I couldn’t see myself running away from this lot, especially him, there wasn’t a safe place in this haunted opera house,
'I don’t know, I don’t understand what's going on' he then went a placed a gently had on my shoulder, just like his friend, I looked at him still,
'It's alright, you can trust me, I'm here to help' that’s when I lost it, I didn’t care if he wanted to help me, what did he know anyway,
'Get off me! , just leave me alone, I told you I don’t know! ' my sudden burst of anger shocked him and everyone else, I felt my chest tighten a little, I was almost gasping for air, I was about to storm away when I felt the floor come out from under me, before I fell through completely I grabbed hold of the stage and held on for dear life, he quickly sprang into action and held onto my arms,
'Jack help me! ' He shouted as he tried to pull me out, he started pulling me when I suddenly felt a strong force pulling me down the hole, I screamed as I fought against the strong arms pulling on my legs, both Jack and the Doctor had hold of me now, and the rest were trying to help me out as well,
'God sake get him off! ' I felt adrenaline rushing through me, I literally felt like a ton had been attached to my legs, I tried to kick him off, but he held them both together,
'Angel please stop! ' It was Christine, she bent down next to me and screamed down the trapdoor, after a few moments he let go and I was finally able to get back onto the stage, I was gasping for air, I felt a little dizzy, Jack shown a light down into the darkness whilst the Doctor held me in his arms, I felt bad for the way I acted, it was out of anger and confusion,
'I'm sorry, I was angry' he held me tighter, he sat there on the floor with me till I calmed down,
'Shh its alright, you'll be alright' he helped me up as everyone was scrambling around, I didn’t dare look down the trapdoor, I hate the dark, it hides everything till it's too late, but all the attention was now focused on Christine, she identified her angel for the whole world to hear, and now she was standing next to Meg, almost ashamed, I released myself from the Doctor and stood by with the rest,
'It's not a ghost is it Christine, or a spirit, it’s a person, a human being, living in the opera house' I felt bad for her, it wasn’t her fault all this was happening, she was the real victim here, I stepped forward and took her hands in mine and gave her a reassuring smile,
'Christine, I know about the angel, I know he has been giving you singing lessons, these men can help you, believe me, this won’t end until he has been confronted, but we can do it together, I promise' she looked unsure, almost scared, I turned round and saw the Doctor nod towards me, I turned back,
'Trust me, because, you need to be brave for what we are about to do' she hesitated a little, then nodded sharply, it was time to lure out the phantom.
