"Diego, you better not be eating my peanut butter!" I screamed, racing down the stairs to make it to the kitchen.

It's been a few days since I left the hunters. Alexander took me away. We packed up all my stuff and I left a note before we left through the window and he brought me back to the pack house, the exact one from my dream.

I made friends and I really made myself at home. At first they didn't know they could trust me, but they warmed up to me and now it's like we're family. The hunters were never my family, they couldn't be even if they tried. I never really fit in to it all.

I've been getting close with Diego recently and late at night when every one was asleep and tucked in bed, I would sneak out my room and in to the kitchen with Diego to have midnight snacks. At first I thought I was the only one who had a midnight fest of food but turns out I'm not alone so me and him are closer than most.

I slid in to the kitchen. All with the aid of fluffy socks and laminate flooring. I was wearing one of Aiden's shirts because well, yeah they're comfortable and smell of him. Shut up, it's nice. Quit judging. I got used to the whole I am his mate thing and I blame the mate pull for me wearing his shirts.

I fold my arms over my chest as I find Diego with all the junk food spread out and he was sitting there with a smirk plastered on his face.

"You really thought I would eat without you?" I narrow my eyes and don't say anything. He stares me down but he's not fooling anyone. "Seriously? You actually did? How unfaithful do you think I am?" He argues.

"Very. I can see chocolate on the sides of your mouth Diego." He wipes at his mouth and I can see the guilt all over him.

"Bitch."

"Asshole. You started without me!"

"I was weak!"

"Was not being the term here. You are weak Diego."

"That's unfair."

"Don't expect anything else. You gave in to the chocolate. How are you going to fight in the war against the hunters?"

"Um... With my impeccable flirting skills!" He says with a big, toothy grin. I roll my eyes.

"You are aware they're all men now after I left. I was the only female hunter there."

"Are you serious?"

"Like death."

"Holy crap. I'm doomed Ella. DOOMED!!"

"Alright, keep ya knickers on and feed me. It isn't for a while yet so in the mean time let's eat!" I announced and sat on the stool next to him.

He watched me as I take a bite out of a big chocolate bar.

"I swear woman, you eat more on at night than you do in the day. What the hell is up with that?" He says. Genuine curiosity evident in his tone.

"I know. My parents always said as long as the moons out, I'm awake and would eat anything in sight whereas I'd sleep all day. They often called me a vampire. How ridiculous is that right?" I laughed. But that laugh died down when I saw Diego's face. He was not laughing. He was serious.

"Well."

"Fine. It's weird OK and I don't understand it either. My dad often said I was more alive, more awake at night than I was during the day. Like at night, I reach my full potential and nobody dares to mess with me. He used to say I had the Moon's Nightly Curse."

"Moon's Nightly Curse?" He echo's.

"Yeah. Basically, you are more alive at night, full of energy and whatnot."
