Alpha's Obsession

Chapter 5

I woke up to something crashing and a blood curdling scream. Aiden had shot right up. His arms around me in a defensive hold. Looking for any threat in the room. Once he saw there was none, we realized it came from downstairs.

Another scream and more crashing followed it. We jumped out of bed. He had his arm around me to make sure I was safe by his side. My arms wrapped around him in fear. We walked to the door as he opened it. There was shouting, and crying and screaming and the breaking of things downstairs.

"Damn!"

"Fuck!"

"It's all her fault...."

"Why did he bring her here..."

"They want her back..."

That's all I could make out from the screaming and shouting and such from downstairs. He walked downstairs, making sure I'm walking with him. He was being cautious with me as I still found it hard to walk.

"What is going on?" He boomed. Pulling me closer to him, he tightened his grip on my waist. I tried to my hide myself from the peering eyes looking at me up and down by turning away in to him shyly.

"Some hunters, more specifically, your chew toy's family, have decided to kill some more of our own as a message to give her back!" Jared shouted, storming his way to the front on the crowd.

"Firstly, she is not my chew toy. She is MY MATE! Secondly, how do you know it's them? How do you know they want her back? How would they even know, that it's this pack that has her?" He replied sharply, a hint of black was seeping in to his eyes. His grasp me on tightened a little more as I tried to shuffle more closer to him out of fear.

"We can smell their scent. It's similar to hers. They know we have her and want her back!" Jared was absolutely furious. He really didn't like me or my family. And he certainly wasn't happy with the fact that I am Aiden's mate.

"Who says I want to go back..." I whispered. I now wish I hadn't said anything. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, had their eyes on me. I pulled on Aiden's shirt a little in fear as a low growl formed in his chest. Warning everyone.

"Well yesterday, you were all for leaving! What's changed? Did he finally mark you somewhere and mate you huh? Is that it?" Jared teased.

Someone from the crowd. Walked forward. And stood beside me in a protective way, much similar to Aiden's. "Jared you know that's none of your business what Alpha Aiden does with his mate. You should stay out of this." The stranger said. Earning a nod from Aiden and a smile from me.

"Stay out of this Diego!" Jared growled at the stranger beside me. Oh. So his name is Diego? It really suits him. His hair is a dark brown and his eyes are grey. He looks cute as-well.

"You know fine well I can't. I'm Beta. So STAND DOWN!" Diego growled. Jared took a step back. A Beta. That's second in command. I remember my mother telling me wolves and the ranks. She was obsessed with wolves. And I know why after last night.

Aiden growled at Jared as Jared looked down at me. "Enjoy your life while you can, chew toy!" Jared spat at me. Earning a scowl from me and Aiden. Jared turned around and walked out, leaving the door open as he shifted in to his wolf form and ran off in to woods. Good riddens I say.

Everyone seemed startled. Another person walked towards us. He seemed about 17. He smiled at me. I smiled back at him and he blushed at me. "MINE," Aiden growled as he turned to me, pulling me in to a possesvice hug in front of everyone.

Woah. Since when did I agree to become his? Probably since last night when I didn't want to leave his arms. Oh well. And what on earth did Jared mean about all that marking and mating thing. Jeeze. I understand why he hates my family. But I don't understand why he hates me. I've done nothing wrong apart from punch his back as I acted out due to the mate pull.
