"HOLD THE MAGIC PHONE HERE FOR A SECOND!" I shouted at the bickering werewolves in the living room. They stopped and turned to find me standing on the back of a sofa effortlessly.
"Magic phone?" Someone whispered as they looked me up and down quizzically. Oh don't you dare judge me you little rat!
"Look, all of you bickering doesn't help this situation!"
"You have the curse so why aren't you freaking out?"
"Oh I don't know, maybe because freaking the hell out won't solve anything!" I shouted. My breathing picked up and I clenched my fists. I'm mad. I know I'm mad. I just don't know why I'm mad. Do you see my problem here? And these wolves arguing about it doesn't help me in any way! I want to rip my hair out. This is beyond a joke now.
"Look, you have the curse, you're becoming one of this. So what's the problem?"
"THE PROBLEM..." Aiden's voice came from behind me. He grabbed my waist and pulled me down. I wrapped my legs around him and nestled my face in the crook of his neck. Now I'm calm. He's my remedy. "Is that we don't know how she has this curse and why it's waking up now."
"I have an idea. Maybe it was because my biological dad was a werewolf and my biological mother was a hunter. Forbidden love right there. So then like... After my mum died and they removed me like I was some sort of tumour, they thought I was human so gave me to another hunter to take care of. But the night my wolf was supposed to awaken, the wife of the hunter who was indeed a werewolf attacked me because she saw me as a threat and since then my wolf has been too terrified to make an appearance until recently when she felt safe while being marked by our mate." I said after a yawn.
"Well it does make sense." Aiden said thoughtfully.
"I know right." I yawned again.
"You're tired."
"Just a little."
"You're wearing yourself out."
"Correction, the pack and my mate is wearing me out." I said with a grin plastered on my face.
"Get some sleep baby."
"But how can I sleep when you keep talking to me?"
"Ella." He said in warning.
"See? That's exactly what I mean! And I don't want to go to bed. I'm happy where I am with you."
"Awww that's so cute!" One of the wolves said in an adoring tone.
"Oh shut it." Another yelled at her.
"Just because your mate is on some mission!" She yelled back.
"Just because you haven't found your mate and all you can do is oggle at others who have found theirs!" He yelled back.
"STOP IT THE BOTH OF YOU! No more arguing over mates and such. There is no point in arguing over this, it's pointless. Just shut up and accept what's happening before I slap the back of your heads and send you crying to your mothers!" I screamed.
I was not in the mood for any of this today. Sick to death of this pack fighting each other for this and that. There's a bigger threat outside and they want us all dead and us arguing with each other isn't changing shit!
They all looked at me shocked and bowed their heads like a child who just got told off by their mother. What am I going to do with this pack?
"For now, we have something else that is coming up. The full moon." Aiden said, almost regretfully.
Ah. The full moon. Where werewolves lose control of their wolves. Who knows what mine will do.
"It's tonight." Aiden said and fear coursed through me. Why couldn't it be in a few weeks? Why is life so unfair to me? I gripped on to Aiden tighter and he held me closer. He seemed mad too now. He turned his head and rested it in my hair. He sniffed and I felt him calm down. So he's not mad at me then. Thank God.
Then all of a sudden, I heard the door being violently jerked open and in walked an older man. He was seething. Visibly shaking with fury.
"Where is my daughter? I felt her wolf awaken. Where is my baby girl?!" He demanded. This man... He was... My father?
Aiden held me protectively as the man sniffed the air.
Tiredly, I cautiously walked towards the man, pushing Aiden away from me. His face softened as he looked at me. My eyes welled up with tears as I ran to him. His strong arms immediately enclosed around me, holding me to him as I cried into his chest.
"Father," I whimpered. "Are you really my father?" He nodded his head as I looked up at him through glassy eyes.
"Come with me. Let me introduce you to our pack. Anthony, bring the car around. I'm bringing Ella home so she can meet her true pack." My father announced.
"She isn't going anywhere with you!" Aiden barked.
"She is my daughter. She has a right to know who her pack is. She's my only child, she will be the leader of the pack one day." My father strictly told him.
"Aiden, it's okay. I should go. I have to. He's my dad. There's a pack out there who need me. My own pack. I'll come back, I promise." I said, looking over at Aiden. Reluctantly, he nodded his head.
I left with my father. We climbed into the car and drove off. Diego, and several other pack members stood aside, waved my goodbye. Aiden stood there, heartbreak evident in his eyes as though I were leaving him forever, as though this was my way of rejecting him.
Truth be told, although I do love Aiden, I don't know if I can be with him. He has a pack, and so do I know. We're both Alpha's. I am not sure if we would be able to make it work. Love is a very tricky thing.
I turned around in my seat, refusing see anymore in case my heart also breaks, in case tears fall freely and I decide to stay and never leave the pack. But I know I must continue, I must keep going and meet my own pack. It's the right thing to do, right?
After an hours drive, we made it to the pack house. My father helped me out the car and numerous people bowed their heads who awaited for arrival eagerly. Nervousness stabbed at me. I followed my father into the home and to the kitchen.
"Hungry?" He asks. I nod my head. Immediatly, a plate of food is placed in front of me. I looked up at the woman who handed me the food as I sat down at the table. She had bright, green eyes, her salt and pepper hair curled around her shoulders as she beamed at me.
"Thank you." I murmured. She nodded her head in gratitude and I began eating. My father and I then began to talk about my life. What happened to me, if I went to school, what it is like to live with hunters. He even asked me about the family that adopted me and then continued to ask about Aiden's pack.
By the time I finished eating, we were all caught up with what has happened so far in our lives and I had grown exhausted. He led me into the living room where he put a movie onto play. Laying down, I rested my head in his lap and fell asleep as he combed his fingers through my hair.
