Chapter 17

"Ella, darling." A strong, powerful masculine voice came from beside me. I sniffed at the air. I recognise that scent. It's similar to mine.

"Dad." I whispered. I looked over to him. He strolled to me, stroked my cheek and smiled at me.

"Alpha, he's getting persistent. He's not going to wait outside the boundaries for much longer." Another voice came from behind my dad.

"Tell him we're coming out there." My father ordered to the man. The man left the room and I listened to his retreating footsteps.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"My Beta, Anthony." He told me. "Your... Mate is outside. He wants to see you."

"I see." I sighed. He's probably worried about me. I sat up still feeling a little light headed.

He reached his hand out for me to take and I took it. I stood up, still feeling wobbly and almost tripped over my feet. He caught me and picked me up. He walked towards the door and we left the room. He continued and soon we left the house. We past many wolves and they bowed their heads down to my father as a sign of respect. I sighed and turned in his arms and snuggled in to him. I felt him chuckle, deep within his chest.

We reached the boundary and I could hear Aiden growling loudly. I turned my head and looked at him from the corner of my eye.

"Get away from my mate." He growled.

"She's my daughter." My dad said proudly. I tapped his chest and nodded up at him. He carefully put me back down on my feet but kept hold of me in case I couldn't stand up yet.

"She's my mate." Aiden argued.

"I don't care. She is my only child and she is the next Alpha of this pack."

"She is MINE!"

"Look here boy. She's my child. You shouldn't be acting like this."

"Then tell your damn Beta to stop giving her lustful gazes!" I looked over to Anthony and he had his head down. I could faintly see through his hair that his face had turned a little red.

"Anthony." My father called in his Alpha tone. Will I get that tone when I turn completely?

"Sir." Anthony's voice wobbled.

"Is this true?"

"I'm sorry Alpha-" The sound of skin slapped ripped through the air. Anthony was on the floor pulling himself up and my dad was standing in front of me, shaking with rage.

"Need I remind you that she is my daughter and she has a mate who is present and you too have a mate to find."

"I'm so sorry."

"Leave us Anthony." My dad ordered in Alpha tone. I watched as Anthony ran away like his life depended on it, to be honest it probably did. I turned back to see Aiden glaring daggers at the retreating figure.

"Ella." Aiden called. He reached his hand out to me and his face had softened and his eyes were pleading with me.

It wouldn't be a crime to regect him. A voice called in my head.

"Leave Aiden. She's turning with her own pack tonight."

"She's my mate."

"I am very well aware, Aiden. But her pack needs her here. A pack is family. Her first change will be with her pack."

"Bad things will happen."

"I will look after my daughter."

"She'll be an animal. You all are."

"We don't see the need to chain ourselves away in to a dungeon underground unlike you do." My eyes lit up. I will be able to feel the wind in my fur. I will see what it looks like at night as a wolf for the first time ever and I'll be with my dad.

Free? I can be free tonight? Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm your wolf. Pleased to be awake and alive at last. By the way, you're so pretty. The voice said again. Wolf?

You mean to tell me you're my wolf? I asked in disbelief.

Precisely sister. Honestly, I thought I would never wake up and that you would remain forever human. How embarrassing would that be?

"She won't be able to control herself." Aiden said, snapping me out of my conversation with my wolf.

The fuck is that supposed to mean?! She seethed.

"What wolf can control themselves under a full moon?"

"She should be with me. She is the Luna of my pack."

"And the next Alpha for her OWN pack! You've had my daughter with you long enough. I deserve some quality time with my own child."

"Who you abandoned!"

"I did not abandon her. I was kept away from her when her mother died and one minute I'm being told to stand back or she'll die next I'm being told she's going to live with a hunter family. My own daughter, a wolf, being raised up as a hunter that hunts her own kind! How ridiculous does that sound?"

"You should have tried to find her."

"I did! I tried. One night, years ago, I felt something. That was when her wolf was meant to awaken. I rushed towards the feeling and then suddenly it went away and I had no idea where it came from. I was heartbroken OK? I lost my daughter before I even had the chance to find her."

"Would you both just calm down?" I screamed in to the air. I was mad, it felt like there was a freaking microscope on my anger right then or it was blasting through 8 feet tall speakers at full blast.

I bawled my fists up. I turned my head and saw that there was a forest nearby. I looked back at them to see them growling at each other. Challenging each other. I screamed in frustration and ran off towards the woods.

Let me go Ella. Let me run too. I need to be free. Let me out. My wolf begged. I went along with her request.

Wolf, come to me now and be free. Run and be free with me. I let you loose.

Next thing I know I'm jumping in to the air and landing down on all fours and I didn't stop or hesitate I kept running. I felt free. The wind in my fur exceeded my expectation of how I imagined it would feel.
