Mel and I have been meeting in the storeroom at the back of Tim’s for a week and a bit. He was more than happy to help, going on about how proud he was and what this meant for the future of the world (I wasn’t that sure about the world, but it certainly meant everything to me).  Have I mentioned recently how great of a guy Tim is?

Anyways today was special. Today was amazing. Today was…argh, I can’t even put in words, so I’ll just explain what happened first.

I was talking to Mel next to the crates of potatoes about, well I guess everything. I mean the storeroom was pretty much our escape, a little hole in the universe away from all the troubles and dramas of life, somewhere where we could be just us, without any of society’s pressures. So, we were talking about something to do with that book my brother was reading (Where the Wild Things Are), and joking about if it actually happened, when suddenly we both burst into laughter at the same time then looked back up, and just happened to make eye contact. My hand’s effortlessly touched her waist, and I seemed to gravitate towards her, eyes closed, like I was drifting through space, guided by something special, until my lips met hers. In that moment, we truly were away from everything else, a place where everything was perfect, everything was right.

This was the place I belonged.
