After hugging them and saying goodnight, I went to my room.
When I opened the door I knew someone else had been in it, actually, all through it. I looked around to find everything was in boxes with labels in the corner.
I sighed in frustration and put jean shorts and a tank top on. I rifled through all my drawers to find most of them already empty.
I smelt my father coming and took several deep breaths trying to calm down.
He didn't even ask how I was when I got back, not shocking but still. All he did was yell at me, and to see that he had someone else pack my stuff! Really? All I have left is my clothes hanging in the cupboard. Everything else was in three boxes.
"I had it packed." My alpha said as he stood at my doorway. Honestly, I was shocked he knew where my room was, although he probably had to ask around.
"I see that."
"You're leaving tomorrow."
Tomorrow? Mating is for life and I'm being told to leave my entire life behind the moment I wake up?! I hate him. I didn't even want to look at him. Disgusted, I turned my back to him. "Where to?"
"The Bluelake pack to mate with Caden."
"I hate you." I slammed the door in his face and locked it before falling on my bed.
I would not let a single tear leave my eyes as I stared up at the ceiling.
I heard a knock on my door and slowly sat up. I knew it was Dana and unlocked the door before sitting on my bed again.
"I didn't know Blake."
"It's fine, he's an ass."
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"I used to try to get you to see his side, I hate that I did. Mom and I talked, actually Ben was there too."
"I'm glad."
"I don't want you to be in the same position as her."
"I won't be. She fell into love and it backfired. I won't have the love part."
"I'm sorry for that too."
"Don't apologize. It's only his fault, no one else's. Oh, and Caden's."
"It was probably Caden's alpha who decided this."
"Yeah, that's the problem." She raised her eyebrow so I elaborated, "He is the alpha."
"You're going to be Luna?"
"Yeah. Depressing eh? Dad wouldn't trust me to be Luna of this pack, but he'll send me off to be Luna just to get rid of me."
"It doesn't matter if he trusts you, we do. When dad dies his word doesn't mean anything. You're going to be Luna of this pack when he goes." Ben said as he walked in.
"No, Ben, you're going to make a great alpha, like grandpa."
"No, I won't. I didn't get any alpha blood, we all know that. But you got it all, and you stick by the choices you make. People trust you, they look up to you. I'm not going to accept the title, so it will go to you. I told mom a long time ago that I wouldn't accept it, I've never even thought of becoming alpha. We need a good one, one that will return this pack to what it was, not an adequate at best alpha."
"Ben, that means a lot. You have no idea, but I'm going to be Luna of another pack. Two alphas decided that, it doesn't matter what I do, I can't get out of it."
