It had been three days since Caden decided we should be attached at the hip. I thought he was exaggerating with that statement.
I was wrong.
I thought it was a we'll-be-close-like-in-the-same-room-at-all-times. Not a we'll-hold-hands-and-step-on-each-others-toes-until-I-want-to-rip-my-hair-out-due-to-frustration close.
Unfortunately it was the latter.
And my stomach is getting bigger quickly with the twin pups which only adds to my frustrations, not to mention the hormones. Woman problems.
And Caden with his food insistence is driving me crazy. I truly do love the man, but if he forces me to eat anymore food I will throw it up on him.
You know I caught that beautiful? He asked as he put his hands around my waist.
Consider it a warning. I playfully scowled at him.
He wrapped his hands around my waist from behind and rubbed my stomach, I'm sorry babe.
I understand Caden it's just extreme.
I'll back off. But I'm still not letting you out of my sight.
I know Caden.
In the past few days Paul had trained fighters nearby on our land and together all of the wolves were training to take on the rogues when they attacked. We knew they were going to attack, they wanted me.
Good news: they wanted me alive until I gave birth to the pups.
Bad news: they wanted to kill me and raise the pups after altering their fate as soon as they were born.
It would be an understatement to say I wasn't scared and nervous. And extremely mad. What kind of wolf wanted to determine the fate of all others? How much power does one think they need? It disgusted me.
We sat down in our office, "So what else did Benji and Daniel find out?"
"They know how to change DNA, that much is obvious but actually playing with fate... Is that in our genes? And if so do they know which part?"
"I've never been a biology student but it seems extreme to be able to play with fate. Honestly Cade it scares the hell out of me."
He pulled me close, "Me too Bee. They won't have a chance at our pups' fates but we know they're out there. I hate to think they could take over packs by making rogue children fated with the alpha heirs."
We both stopped, They're here. It was Daniel.
Who?! Caden growled.
Rogues. They're about two miles out. They're getting closer.
We couldn't attack until they were on our land since we didn't have enough evidence for council to agree to that. Caden hated this since they were going to be close enough to put me in a ton of danger, but with the extra fighters he tried to convince me nothing would happen to me.
Caden told Zeke and the fighters were instantly gathering into the groups they would defend in. I hated that so many lives would be lost because of me, but then again it wasn't me. It was me and my two pups.
