It was a rainy day in the small town of Indigo. I quietly sat in my living room reading, while listening to pitter patter of the rain on my roof. The weather was getting rapidly colder, with the beginning of the first frost creeping in. But it was peaceful here, much unlike the cities close by. We were a very cliché town, everyone knew each other.
I got up and walked into a small kitchen, where I started to boil some water. My best friend ,Ashley Greene, was coming over for brunch, and I have never disappointed in my cooking skills. Once the water was done, I poured it into a plain white tea pot, and slipped in some mint tea bags to start steeping. I put this, with a variety if cookies and sandwiches, on my table and shuffled off to my closet.
I picked out a loose floral dress, a Creme cardigan, and some fuzzy black socks to lounge around in. I tied my hair into a messy bun and decided to skip makeup today.
Returning to my living room, I quickly lit a sweet smelling candle, nestled back on my couch ,and continued reading.

"Finally, you're here!" I said as I opened the door. Ashley walked in smiling, and unplugged her earphones as she made her way to the kitchen.
"Looks delicious Criss, but tea?" she criticized as she sat down.
"Yes tea. Tea is good, especially on rainy days." I stated, finding a seat of my own.
"So, what have you been up to?" she asks, eyeing a cookie.
"Well, I have been working on the essay Mr.Whitemore gave us. You?"
"Well, I have been shopping, went out to dinner with Mikey, and slept. Sounds like you had an exciting time doing nothing."
"I have been working on my education, thank you very much. Besides, what would I do? "
"I don't know, you are such a stick in the mud, it is hard to get you to do anything not having to do with school. Have you considered going out and meeting new people?" she drawled.
"Yes, but I know everyone already! And I am not a stick in the mud."
"What ever you say, Criss."
"Alright. The tea should be done. Cream?"
"No thanks, I think I might just eat these cookies."
I set down the tea pot.
"Hey, did you want to watch a movie?"
"Sure, which one ?" I chuckled, but got up before she could awnser. Walking over to my tv, I picked up Tangled, and put in the DVD. We snuggled into the couch, and watched the Disney "magic" unfold. When the movie was finished, Ashley left and I remained alone. She is right, I thought, I am a lonely stick in the mud. I guess I will have to look into that later.
Currently, I was watching cat videos and parts of Pll, so it wouldn't be right to fuddle my mind with thoughts of relationships. Who has time for that?
I hopped into the shower, Trying not to think about school, especially since it was on a Monday. Ew, Mondays.
I don't have time for that either.
A/N So this is the first chapter of my new book! Sorry if it isn't to interesting, but please read on to at least chapter two. I am pretty bad at making first chapters, but I promise it will get better! Thanks for reading! - Lucy
