SAM'S P.O.V
"Sam, baby, come down for a sec please, it's lunch time!" Mom called me from the middle of the stairs.
"Be there, Mom. Hang on!"
"Alright! 5 minutes!"
"5 minutes!"
I showed up my thumb to Mom and smirked, then closed the door again. I took my position before the piano, turned it on, shut my eyes, and put my fingers on this black and white thing I love the most.
...In another life...
...I would be your girl...
...We'd keep all our promises...
...Be us against the world...
...In another life...
...I would make you stay...
...So I don't have to say you were...
...The one that got away...
...The one that got away...
I opened my eyes and swept away the tears. It's hard. It's always hard to sing this song. I once loved it so much like it's the only favorite song. But I kept searching for another better sight of music. Until I found the foundation of my own. And this piano, with that guitar, were both my life. So I pretty much started to sing a while back ago. Mom caught me singing a lot in my room, and she, being too sneaky, secretly posted my cover on YouTube. I don't know how but I freaked out when I found myself on YouTube, with my name on it. That's when Mom said to me that she thinks I should take a higher step. Which means...like this.
Thanks to Mom, I needed to push myself to make some covers once in a month, or twice. Because apparently people have discovered me or something. I got 1500 subscribers in a week. Is it huge? So, ever since I graduated, I didn't really get a job. Mom supported me 24/7 to do this singing stuff. A local radio had asked me to stop over and did interview last week. And I did other 2 interviews before. You know what's funny? I didn't even have the professional recorded songs yet.
"5 minutes has gone, baby. Lunch first!" Mom this time seriously knocked.
"Okay I'm done!" I opened the door in hurry before Mom knocked twice.
"Good. Because I'm about to break this door down." Mom rolled her eyes.
"Ouch, that's horrible." I burst out laughed and hugged her. "Let's eat Mom, I'm hungry to death."
We walked downstairs where Dad was. We gathered at the dining table and prayed, then eating our lunch peacefully. Mom cooked some tasty main course, beef and chicken, and we got ice cream as the dessert.
"How's the cover, baby?" Dad asked with a mouth full of ice cream. He's hillariously funny. I love him.
"It's cool, Pap. I'll post one soon."
"Oh, have you recorded it?"
"Yeah, just now. I want to edit it first and there you go."
"What song, Sam?" Mom added.
"The One that Got Away." I smiled.
"That's Katy Perry's, right?" Dad asked again and I nodded. "Oh I love that song."
"Yeah me too."
"Hey Sam, I think you should link your channel to some new artists too. So they can recognize you." Mom gave an idea which I found it creepy.
"No, Mom. I'm not ready yet. Maybe someday. But my covers are too horrible compared to theirs."
"Not at all!" She yelled from the sink at the kitchen. "You never know!"
"Ah I think I'm gonna edit the video and take a nap, alright? I'm sleepy." I kissed Dad first and walked toward Mom to give another kiss.
"Okay! And Sam, me and your Mom are gonna have a meeting this afternoon. Will running late. Grab something for dinner by yourself, okay?" Dad tossed a car key to me.
"Done!" I smiled widely and went to my room. Don't ask. I'd always love a me time where I can just be me without being bothered. But that's later. Now, let's work and get some sleep.
