Avelyn's POV
We make our way down to the office for our schedules with some lighthearted conversations here and there. Walking through the school, I realize it's got a cliche high school vibe to it. Banners are put up along the walls congratulating the football team on their last win, saying things like "Go Saints!" The school is fairly spacious, and the lockers are painted blue.
From the conversations being made, I have learned Cole is the joker of the group, Ashton is sort of the 'bad boy', and Xavier is kind of like the leader of the bunch. All of their personalities are completely different, yet they mesh together so well. It's like they complete each other. I barely even know them, and I can already tell they have some sort of unbreakable bond. I'm left envious. I wish I had that. Though, I've come to realize I can always count on Cole to break me out of my depressing thoughts.
"Come on guys; we're here. Let's get this shit done and over with," he says.
I grumble under my breath. I really hate school. By the chuckles they're releasing, I can tell they heard me.
As if sensing my agitation, Ashton says, "Come on, babe. I know this school doesn't have a very good rep so far, but at least you have us." He adds a wink at the end for good measure. I'm left blushing, again, at the new nickname. I guess them calling me Ava is out of the picture, considering they've all come up with their own unique nicknames for me.
He grabs my hand and leads me inside the stuffy office. There are a couple of kids in waiting chairs and a lady at the front desk.
"Hello, how may I help you?" she questions in an enthusiastic tone upon seeing our entrance. She is an older lady, around her 50s I would say, with graying hair and a kind smile. This immediately brightens my mood and relinquishes a little of my shyness.
"Hello, we're new students, and we came for our schedules," I answer in a chipper tone.
"Oh, yes! You're the new students. We don't get many transfers, especially in the middle of the semester. My name is Judy! What are your names? I'll print out your schedules for you," she replies.
Xavier speaks up, answering, "Xavier Stone."
"Cole Sanders," my new blonde friend pipes up.
"My name is Ashton Michaels," Ashton says.
"And you, miss?" the kind lady questions me.
"Avelyn Gravaldi," I answer.
"Okay, it'll just be a moment. Wait here while I go grab your schedules from the printer really quickly." With that, she turns the corner to finish the task. Not even five minutes later she comes back with four newly printed schedules in her hands. We thank her and take our leave.
"Let me see your schedule, kitten," Cole demands. I hand it over, and we all check to see if we have any classes together. It looks something like this:
1st Period - AP Chemistry (w/ Xavier)
2nd Period - History (w/ Cole)
3rd Period - French (w/ Ashton)
4th Period - English 12 (w/ Cole and Ashton)
5th Period - Lunch (w/ all three)
6th Period - Gym (w/ all three)
7th Period - Study Hall (Xavier)Yay! I have all of my classes with at least one of my boys!
Wait. Did I just call them my boys? Slow down there, Ava. You sound like the whore your mother says you are. They aren't your boys, and they never will be.
After they're all done looking at my schedule, they hand it back over.
"Sick! We have four classes together, kitten," Cole all but shouts in the empty hall, again.
